It’s the 49th time these two meet, which includes one postseason contest from last year. The all-time series is tied 24-24.Teddy Bridgewater officially gets the start for Sean Payton’s squad, which is sure to draw some interest from outsiders. They made mistakes and weren’t good enough. That’s the truth. What’s also true though is that the game was loosely officiated. There were missed calls and questionable decisions Dak Prescott Jersey , most notably an “in the grasp” whistle that effectively ended a Cowboys drive that could have produced points.Dallas was moving the ball and hoping to get points right before the half since they’d get the ball to begin the second half (they did nothing with that possession for what it’s worth). On third down, Dak Prescott was scrambling and trying to make a play until La’el Collins hugged him and all hell broke loose. You’re a Cowboys fan, and an intellectual no doubt, so you know that La’el Collins plays for the Dallas Cowboys. That’s the team that Dak Prescott plays for. This is made obvious by the fact that they wear the same uniform and helmet. This was not obvious to referee John Parry who offered a horrible explanation for the whistle. If Parry’s point about the quarterback’s progress being stopped is such a critical element in blowing whistles then why don’t we see them do it every time a quarterback stops to throw the ball? That’s progress stopping. Obviously we’re being facetious here but you get the point White Ezekiel Elliott Jersey , this is a pretty hollow explanation. It is also worth repeating, since it doesn’t seem to be obvious, that the hands wrapped around Dak Prescott belonged to his teammate and not to a defender. This detail is sort of the primary and irrefutable difference between when the whistle should and should not be blown in such cases. The reality here is that the NFL made a mistake. We’re not animals, we understand that mistakes happen. What’s infuriating as football fans is being treated like idiots as opposed to people with common sense that saw what happen. If the NFL were to own up to blowing the whistle in the heat of the moment because they saw hands around Dak we’d be upset Ezekiel Elliott Jersey 2019 , but at least we’d be treated as intellectuals. The NFL will probably apologize for this a few years from now. That’s typically how they roll with questionable playoff penalties that negatively impact the Cowboys. We’ve got a week of NFL playoff action under our belts and four teams are moving on to the divisional round. Such is life. The Indianapolis Colts, Dallas Cowboys, Los Angeles Chargers, and Philadelphia Eagles all emerged victorious from the wildcard round. They all actually wore white jerseys if you’re looking for a common denominator. Dallas will wear white against the Los Angeles Rams if that makes you feel even better.Speaking of the Cowboys (we do that from time to time) Youth Robert Newhouse Jersey , did you know that they were the only team over the weekend that successfully defended their home stadium? Every other division winner fell at the hands of a wildcard team but the Cowboys managed to power through. What’s more is that the Cowboys weren’t just the only successful division winner from Wildcard Weekend, they were the highest scoring team of all eight.Points Scored in Wildcard Weekendallas Cowboys - 24Los Angeles Chargers - 23Seattle Seahawks - 22Indianapolis Colts - 21Baltimore Ravens - 17Philadelphia Eagles - 16Chicago Bears - 15Houston Texans - 7This single piece of information doesn’t exactly tell us much but it is interesting to reflect upon. The Cowboys are considered to have one of the lesser offenses in the tournament and they still managed to put up the most points. Both the Chargers and Eagles were taking on elite defenses in Baltimore and Chicago and they were obviously limited to a small degree. Mathis, currently a pass rush consultant for the franchise, was arrested in Carmel on Oct. One of the more perplexing features of the NFL is the salary cap. On the one hand, it seems straight forward. On the other hand, it can get dicey and confusing. All general managers have a salary cap that all teams must fit under. Simple, right? It gets more complicated in a hurry. After all, teams with very little cap space frequently sign marquee players to high dollar contracts. This is accomplished through bonuses, incentive-laden contract clauses, and back-loading a deal where the bulk of the contract’s value is paid in years the team expects to have more cap space. This salary cap planning and “manipulation” is what NFL salary capologists like Mike Bluem spend their time considering every day. How can we plan for the future in a way that allows Chris Ballard and Jim Irsay to field a team with the most talent in the NFL for the longest period of time? We can’t simply spend all the way up to the salary cap every year, leaving no space available, and hope to keep the nucleus together. Major contracts for our own players will consistently require work as the old ones expire and new deals need to be made.Keeping in mind the needs for our own players Womens Robert Okereke 2019 Jersey , how much salary cap space do we have to work with to sign free agents and bring in outside talent? How do we work all of this together to make sure we stay above the NFL’s mandated 89 percent rule? This week, we’ll take a look at these questions and do our best to shed light on the NFL salary cap, 89 percent rule, and what fans might be able to expect Chris Ballard and Mike Bluem to do in 2019 and beyond.Evaluating the Colts Top Positional NeedsIt is hard to believe how far the Colts have come at positions of need from the end of the 2017 season. Heading into the 2018 NFL Draft, we included pass rush, off-ball linebackers, offensive line, and running backs at the top of the list. While the need for pass rush remains, there is very little need to commit significant resources to adding off-ball linebackers, offensive line, or running backs. At this point, the Colts defense desperately needs to find help rushing the passer. The unit did a great job stopping the run but the defensive line-secondary symbiosis was off for much of the season and made life particularly difficult against strong offenses and good quarterbacks. As the symbiosis suggests, more help in the secondary, especially in terms of depth is important and the work to add to the interior of the defensive line will never end. In particular, the safety position could go through considerable turnover if Chris Ballard chooses not to retain his own free agents. On offense, Andrew Luck and T.Y. Hilton would benefit considerably by adding a couple of legitimate threats at wide receiver through the draft or free agency. Our list: Pass Rush, Wide Receiver Indianapolis Colts Robert Okereke Jersey , Secondary, Defensive Line — Depth?SecondaryThere are an intriguing number of defensive backs about to hit free agency who could provide a spark for the Colts defense. The biggest obstacle might be Ballard’s confidence in some of his own in-house free agents and the continued development of his young players. Consider that Ballard has spoken highly of Clayton Geathers, Matthias Farley oozes the type of player and locker room presence Ballard covets, and former first round pick Malik Hooker is firmly entrenched as the starting free safety. A player like Landon Collins could certainly be a huge boost for the secondary but I doubt that Collins will reach free agency, as the Giants have already indicated their intention to use the franchise tag if a deal cannot be reached before the deadline. Also, consider that cornerbacks Kenny Moore and Quincy Wilson earned praise from Ballard and the coaching staff in 2018. Free agent Pierre Desir is another player who seems to offer the kind of “homegrown” background that Ballard wants to reward. Desir is already familiar with Matt Eberflus’ scheme and could be retained for less money than some of the marquee names to hit free agency. With that said, the Colts have the money to go after any player they covet.S Ha Ha Clinton-Dix — While Clinton-Dix could certainly be a priority free agent for the Redskins, the team doesn’t have a ton of cap space and has other free agents who may be a high priority. How they plan to approach their quarterback situation with Alex Smith recovering from a gruesome leg injury is a complete unknown and it could alter their approach to the coming off-season.The upside of adding a player like Clinton-Dix is having a second deep safety in certain packages. A pairing with Hooker would create perhaps the most impressive coverage safety combination in the NFL. Spotrac projects his future contract will average $9.9 million with a total contract value of $49,500,476 over five years.CB Ronald Darby — The Philadelphia Eagles have worked salary cap magic in the past and they may be able to do so again but they will have to make some difficult decisions to get there. Do they risk placing a franchise tag on Darby after he suffered a season-ending knee injury? How do they approach the rest of their very heavy unrestricted free agent class to keep the team together? At some point, sacrifices will be made and it is possible that Ronald Darby makes his way to the free agent market solely due to cap restrictions. If he does, he could be a major upgrade for the Colts secondary. Placing him on the outside with Pierre Desir or Quincy Wilson would give Colts pass rushers additional time to get after the quarterback. Even with the injury, Spotrac projects Darby’s contract to cost an average of $13.4 million per season and to total just over $80 million for six seasons.CB Bashaud Breeland — The Colts brought in Breeland during his most recent stint in free agency. He ended up leaving without a contract and played for the Green Bay Packers this season. They could bring him back or allow him to get back to free agency. If he does get back to free agency, the Colts are in a far superior position than they were previously. He was one of the top free agent corners heading into the 2018 season but had to recover from injury.Spotrac projects that Breeland will cost an average of $6.9 million per year with a total contract value of just shy of $36 million over 5 years. It will be interesting to see if he can convince teams that he is fully recovered from his previous non-football injury that caused him to fail physical in his last team visits. Defensive LineUnfortunately, there are not a ton of interior defensive line prospects that are currently set to become unrestricted free agents. Those with the biggest names and who have proven the most are unlikely to make it to free agency. If a marquee free agent like Grady Jarrett did, it is hard to imagine that Chris Ballard would break the bank for him.DT Darius Philon — At only 25 years old, Philon still has legitimate upside potential. If a move to Matt Eberflus’ system can work some magic Cheap Alize Mack Youth Jersey , he can continue his upward trajectory. Each season, Philon has managed to take a step forward in at least one area of his development. 2018 saw him take just under 60% of the Chargers’ defensive snaps, put up his highest single season tackle total, tie his single season record for one forced fumble, and come .5 sack shy of matching his mark in 2017 of 4.5 sacks. There is certainly a chance that the Chargers choose to bring him back to the fold but it is also fair to think that the team could focus significant resources at one major free agent to try to push them deeper into the playoffs while Philip Rivers is still playing. Like the next free agent prospect, Philon could likely be signed to a three-year deal worth $12 million with an average cap hit of around $4 million.DT Rodney Gunter — Gunter is 27 years old and will hit free agency in March as his rookie contract is coming to an end. It is unlikely that he will top anyone’s free agent want list and rather likely that only Cardinals fans are familiar enough with him to have a strong opinion about what he is worth or what he can bring to a team. That said, at 6’5”, 305 lbs. Gunter tallied 4.5 sacks, 44 tackles, and 2 forced fumbles in only 10 starts in 2018. Adding Gunter would be similar to signing Denico Autry, in that neither were marquee players on their respective defenses but both had a knack for making the most out of their opportunities. He played on just under 60% of Arizona’s snaps last year and could likely be signed to a three-year contract worth about $12 million. Knowing Ballard, if he signed this contract the guaranteed money would be front loaded with an average cap hit of around $4 million.

Baker Mayfield isn’t blaming his receivers Nick Chubb Browns Jersey , or the Cleveland Browns’ game plan, for his Week 6 meltdown under pressure.“Just lack of execution. I think that we have been trying to answer those questions of why it happened. I think that we practiced well. I think that I was more than enough prepared,” Mayfield said on Wednesday. “The coaches had me ready. It was just on my part. It was up to me, nobody else.“It just comes down to me not doing my job to the best of my ability, plain and simple. There is no way around it. I have to be better for this team and be that for our offense.”The rookie quarterback had his first rookie moment, and the resulting 38-14 drubbing by the Los Angeles Chargers was an eye-opener for the young signal-caller.Mayfield excelled at beating pressure and getting the ball out quickly in his first three appearances. Despite struggling with some indecision after his primary reads were taken away, his team was able to mitigate them. Those struggles were amplified in Week 6.Luckily, he has some experienced players in his corner who will help him while looking to improve his decision making in these difficult situations.“There were a lot of obvious things in that game – get the ball out of your hands and do not turn it over – but there are things that you can learn from with timing, getting off of certain reads and why,” Mayfield told reports on Wendnesday. “That is the stuff that veterans like Ty and (QB) Drew (Stanton) can help me learn and speed up that process.”Although one game is not an indictment, there’ll be plenty more opportunities to point out that Mayfield’s still an inexperienced rookie playing the NFL’s most important position. What’s most important Womens Baker Mayfield Jersey , now, is that he continues take these lessons in stride and adds them to his tool chest.“I think it is a lot of getting back to the fundamentals, making sure that I do great on my progression reads and then on the shots that we are taking, if they are not there, getting off of them quick and getting the ball out,” said Mayfield. “It goes back to getting it into the playmakers’ hands.”He was making enough happen when those things didn’t go his way until he was hobbled with ankle injury against the Chargers. But it might not have mattered. The Chargers were able to corral him in the pocket, taking away his ability to extend plays when the primary play has been beaten.Even though improvising is a key skill for any NFL quarterback, Mayfield knows he was brought to the NFL to make plays the traditional way.“Yes, that is what I did in college. When a play breaks down, yeah, I have been blessed with the ability to make plays https://www.brownslockerroom.com/authentic-jim-brown-jersey ,” he added. “When it comes down to it, I was not drafted here to run around and do things with my feet.“I am not fast so I have to be able to throw from the pocket.”Sometimes a play isn’t going to be there, especially with a depleted receiver corps, so he’ll be required to keep improvising to keep drives alive.Tampa Bay fired its defensive coordinator this week to try to stop the bleeding of their worst-ranked pass defense, which is allowing over 350 passing yards per game in five contests.Mayfield starting fast by making those quicker decisions will help the Browns add to their woes in Week 7.The Browns have collectively bemoaned their slow offensive starts so far this season, but the quarterback knows the solution rides on his shoulders.“Me doing my job. Start fast, do my job and get the ball out. Offense gets on a roll, and we build momentum from that.”Daily Dawg Chow: Browns news (9/10/18) Cleveland Browns:“Jackson felt Pittsburgh Steelers were offsides on blocked field goal in OT” (WKYC) - “Jackson felt the Browns should get another chance at a game-winning try because the Steelers, in his opinion, lined up offsides.”“No-win situation: Browns can’t finish in tie with Steelers” (AP) - “When the ball deflected off T.J. Watt’s left hand and fluttered to a water-logged landing, well short of the crossbar David Njoku Jersey , there was nothing more the Browns could do.”“Tie ‘nothing to be excited about’: These Browns want more” (ESPN) - “How many teams came out of Week 1 assured of a better record than they had last year? Just one, folks. Your Cleveland Browns.”“Myles Garrett, Denzel Ward introduce themselves to Ben Roethlisberger with sacks and turnovers” (C-T) - “The Browns’ No. 1 and No. 4 overall draft picks the last two years did just about all they could to deliver a victory Sunday at FirstEnergy Stadium.”“Josh Gordon wasn’t supposed to start, but he did” (PFT) - “That tension surfaced briefly today, from Jackson’s perspective, regarding the fact that receiver Josh Gordon wasn’t supposed to start on Sunday. But he did.”“Refocused, NFL Week 1: Cleveland Browns 21, Pittsburgh Steelers 21” (PFF) - “The conditions weren’t ideal, but the performance of Tyrod Taylor will have done nothing to quieten those wanting Baker Mayfield to start.”NFL:“Injury roundup: Will Fuller will not play vs. Patriots” (NFL.com) - “Will Fuller (hamstring) will not play against the New England Patriots. I don’t think Ron Rivera was trying to channel an unflattering meme when he said that “all you need is a chance” during his press conference this morning. His reference was to the fact that the Panthers season is not mathematically over. As desperate as many Panthers fans feel for change https://www.carolinapanthersfanshop.com , whether it be on or off the field, the idea of looking at the playoffs on the heels of a five game losing stretch seems a little pie eyed, at best. But that is, for better or worse, Rivera’s job. He is supposed to try to seize opportunities and maximize his team’s chances for success. In 2018, that means following any path to the playoffs that still exists. The Panthers do not, at present, control their own destiny. Their path to the playoffs requires a loss by the Minnesota Vikings and a loss by Washington. They also can’t realistically lose another game. All of this things are technically possible. As Rivera said, all you need is a chance. To calculate that chance Carolina Panthers Customized Jerseys , FiveThirtyEight has a fun tool to predict the playoffs. You can tell it who you think will win what games and it will tell you how that affects a team’s chances. For example, the Panthers currently stand at a nine percent chance to make the playoffs by their metrics. A win against New Orleans on Monday Night Football changes that to a 24% chance. Winning out jumps them to a 75% chance, hinging on the likelihood that Minnesota and Washington drop at least one game apiece.Any loss by the Panthers becomes endlessly complicated. The tiebreakers this year in the NFC are spread across a range of teams with mixed and middling records. Until they are eliminated, we have to follow Rivera and company’s philosophy that there is a chance. What we don’t have to do, is get mired in the minutiae of those chances. Rooting for losses and wins across the league gets confusing. It’s Fantasy Playoff season, I have enough conflicting loyalties as it is.Instead, I recommend playing with the calculator I linked above and picking a path that works for you. I am rooting for three ties for the Panthers. Each game will be impossibly stressful and ultimately hilarious, which is to say worth watching. Fivethirtyeight says there is a 4% chance of making the playoffs if the Panthers tie the Falcons once and the Saints twice in the final three weeks of the season. If all I need is a chance then I know which one I’m taking. PITTSBURGH (AP) — Ben Roethlisberger was still in the process of picking himself up off the Heinz Field turf when the scrum started, one that sent a message that at the moment it might be unwise to mess with the Pittsburgh Steelers.Steelers center Maurkice Pouncey and right guard David DeCastro were not particularly pleased with how Carolina safety Eric Reid launched himself at Pittsburgh's franchise quarterback as Roethlisberger finished off an 18-yard scramble during the third quarter of a 52-21 dismantling of the Panthers on Thursday night.Together the two perennial Pro Bowlers — a combined 630 pounds give or take a meal — let Reid and a handful of his teammates know they didn't appreciate Reid's approach to his job. What followed was 30 seconds of flexing Carolina Panthers T-Shirts , grabbing and shoving before Reid was ejected for targeting. "You've got to be there for your guy," DeCastro said. "Just trying to stand up for him and show him we've got his back."As the Steelers made their way back to the huddle, Roethlisberger gave his linemen peace of mind should the NFL decide to hit their wallets after sticking up for him."Ben came up after and said, ‘If any fine gets handed out, I'll handle that,'" Pouncey said with a laugh.Pouncey, in the fourth year of a five-year contract that will pay him $44 million, can certainly afford to write the check. He believes the fact he won't have to if it comes to that says a lot about Roethlisberger — and a lot about the current climate within the Pittsburgh locker room."It's cool man," Pouncey said. "I appreciate all the guys repping like that."Those guys have found their identity over the last five weeks. Pittsburgh (6-2-1) set a record for the most points by an NFL team in the 17-year history of Heinz Field while rolling to a fifth straight victory. The reward? Five days off to rest up before starting a daunting final stretch that begins on Nov. 18 in Jacksonville in a playoff rematch that saw the Jaguars stun Pittsburgh at home in January."Last year is last year https://www.carolinapanthersfanshop.com/hats ," Steelers cornerback Mike Hilton said. "We're a different team just like they're a different team."If anything, Pittsburgh looks much better than while getting pushed around by Leonard Fournette and Blake Bortles in a confidence-shaking 45-42 setback that led to an exodus in both the secondary and portions of the coaching staff.Randy Fichtner took over for Todd Haley as offensive coordinator and, even with star running back Le'Veon Bell sitting out due to concerns with his one-year contract, has put together an attack that looks as dynamic and varied as anything in the league.James Conner, Bell's replacement, already has 11 touchdowns through nine games, as many as Bell has scored in any full season. Roethlisberger spread the ball all over the place on a night he finished with more scoring passes (five) than incompletions (three)."We've got a lot of weapons on this team and Ben showed it tonight getting the ball to all of them," DeCastro said.Roethlisberger's only complaint is that Fichtner may get a little too loud in the headset because he's so pumped up about the next play call.Pittsburgh's defense kept Carolina's Cam Newton under wraps, sacking him five times while limiting the Panthers to 242 yards Carolina Panthers Hoodie , the fourth straight game an opponent has finished with 275 yards or less. Save for a couple of early communication breakdowns that allowed Panthers running back Christian McCaffrey to get loose, the Steelers kept things tight."I don't think it's a come-to-Jesus moment where something miraculously just happened," defensive tackle Cam Heyward said. "I think everybody got back to work. It showed on the practice field and it showed ever since. This is a big win, but it's not like we don't have games after this. We'll enjoy it for tonight and enjoy it for the weekend, but when we get back in we have to get back to work."

The Jacksonville Jaguars moved on from former third overall pick Dante Fowler Andrew Norwell Jersey , Jr., trading him to the Los Angeles Rams. Fowler was a disappointment in so that he was the third overall pick and didn’t look like he’d ever end up that consistent pass rusher they envisioned, but he always played hard and tried his best, and I say that with all sincerity. Going forward for the now https://www.jaguarsfanstore.com/Austin-Seferian-Jenkins-Jersey , the question is how do the Jaguars replace the snaps that Fowler was playing in the defense, most notably on obvious passing downs? Some would think Dawuane Smoot, the 2017 third round pick who has been a healthy scratch all season, but he’s more of the strongside end variety. It’s likely going to be who replaced Fowler during his one game suspension Niles Paul Color Rush Jersey , special teams captain Larentee McCray.McCray played quite a few snaps in Week 1 against the New York Giants and actually had a really good game. McCray played 35 snaps on defense Week 1 and had multiple pressures on the quarterback and a sack. Since Fowler returned however, McCray has only played 34 (4.9 per game) in total in the following seven games. At 28 years old, I don’t know that McCray is going to have some kind of career renaissance as a pass rusher filling in the final eight games of the 2018 regular season, but in his short spurts of playing time he’s shown some ability to put pressure on the quarterback D.J. Hayden Jersey , so it’s possible he could mitigate the loss of snaps from Fowler. The Jacksonville Jaguars just beat the New York Jets on both sides of the ball, with Blake Bortles throwing for a career-high 388 yards and the defense allowing just 178 total yards on 48 total plays which last under 23 minutes of time of possession. In that Herculean defensive effort was three sacks on rookie quarterback Sam Darnold. Let’s take a look at each.Sack #1: Yannick NgakoueIt was Yannick’s first of the season and it came as the Jaguars were trying to close out a near perfect first half. Yannick cleans this up well (and who better to get a clean up sack than a guy who has provided clean up sacks for so many others?) but look at Taven Bryan destroy the left guard and collapse the pocket.Whew.Sack #2: Malik JacksonA beautiful stunt by Malik here who just makes a bee line for Darnold — and like Yannick, this is Malik’s first sack of the season as well.Poor guy never had a chance.Sack #3: Barry ChurchIt was very obvious Church was coming on the blitz off the edge and the running back just can’t pick him up. This is Church’s first sack of the season and he has just 2.5 in his career.

NFL Trade Deadline 2018: Cowboys’ Amari Cooper deal is reportedly throwing off the trade market - Jared Dubin Bob Lilly Jersey , CBS SportsWith several receivers reportedly on the market approaching the trade deadline, it seems that the Cowboys’ trade for Amari Cooper has had some fallout on the market for those players. How Amari Cooper’s presence can help Cowboys from Dak to Zeke - Todd Archer, ESPNSpeaking of Amari Cooper, fans are now less than a week away from his debut with Dallas. As anticipation mounts, here’s how his presence can help everyone on the team. Golden Tate Traded to Eagles; Lions Receive 3rd-Round Draft Pick - Joseph Zucker, Bleacher ReportThe Cowboys aren’t the only team in the division making changes. On Tuesday before the trade deadline, the Philadelphia Eagles made a move to bolster one of their weaknesses. Packers trade safety Ha Ha Clinton-Dix to Redskins - Rob Demovsky and John Keim, ESPNAnother NFC East team that made a trade deadline change to improve their roster is the Washington Redskins. They have surprised most people by jumping out to the lead in the division race, and are making moves to ensure it stays that way. Cowboys hits and misses: Here’s where Dallas has done worse and better than we thought at the bye week - David Moore Jay Novacek Color Rush Jersey , SportsDayA look back at what the Cowboys did right so far this season, and things they are not doing well. What the Cowboys need to improve and the game they must win to make the playoffs - Jon Machota, SportsDayWhat’s the one game the Cowboys have to have to make the playoffs? What the firing of Paul Alexander means for the future of the Dallas Cowboys? - Connor Livesay, Blogging the BoysThe Cowboys surprised some on Monday when they fired their offensive line coach, Paul Alexander, and promoted Marc Colombo to the role. What can fans expect under the guide of Colombo? What the decision to fire O-line coach Paul Alexander and promote Marc Colombo came down to for the Cowboys - David Moore, SportsDay DallasThe decision to fire Alexander midseason was what was most surprising, as midseason coaching changes rarely happen. Here’s what led to the decision. Dak Prescott under pressure - @PFF_CowboysSomething that has as much to do with the offensive line as it does receivers, a new statistic from Pro Football Focus shows that Dak Prescott has been under a lot of pressure this season. Jerry Jones did his regular Tuesday hit on the radio and discussed a wide variety of subjects. One issue that came up is one that has been bedeviling the Cowboys and their fans for a while now - why does the team fail so often in the red zone? The Cowboys offense has no problems moving the ball between the 20’s https://www.dallascowboysfanshop.com/Bill-Bates-Jersey , but once they close in on the goal line, things go sour.It happened again in Indianapolis when the Cowboys got to the three-yard line and face a third-down and one for a first down. The Cowboys ran a perfect play that had two receivers open for a potential touchdown. Dak Prescott chose to loft a pass to fullback Jamize Olawale who only needed to catch the ball and fall into the endzone for a score. Instead, he totally whiffed on the ball and the Cowboys chose to go for a fourth-down attempt. They went to the ground game but two linemen ended up blocking one guy, while leaving another free to knife into the backfield and blow up Ezekiel Elliott’s run attempt. So what was Jerry’s take on the red zone woes?Sounds like the owner is keen on keeping the ball on the ground and allowing Prescott to use his legs more. Prescott using his legs more has been a constant theme this year but the Cowboys seem reluctant to expose Prescott to too many hits. There is plenty of people who blame Scott Lienhan for the play calls in the red zone. Much of it depends on your view. There certainly could be more creativity in the red zone as the Cowboys rarely deviate from their normal set of plays. On the other hand, it’s hard to blame Linehan for things like Cole Beasley dropping a wide open pass for a touchdown (Atlanta game), or Dak Prescott failing to hit a wide open Noah Brown (Washington game), or the aforementioned Olawale play. The truth is it is a combination of things, as we haven’t even gotten into the penalties that have pushed the Cowboys back in certain situations in the red zone. Whether it’s Linehan, the players Charles Haley Jersey , a combination of the two, or whatever... the Cowboys better start figuring it out soon if they want to have hope in the playoffs (assuming they get there).Jones went on to update some of the injured and benched players. He noted that the team expects David Irving to play again this season and that he is ”working to get viable.” The team still isn’t sure if Tavon Austin will return this week and there is no concrete update on the status of Zack Martin’s knee.Additionally, Jerry made a little crack at the expense of the defensive line, who had a terrible game against the Colts. After two weeks of being a healthy scratch, he suggested maybe it was time to get Taco Charlton back in the rotation.

CHICAGO (AP) — Aaron Rodgers missed a couple of open receivers. He got picked off. He came up empty when the Green Bay Packers needed a big play.Nothing like his usual work against the Chicago Bears.Rodgers looked shaky in Green Bay's 24-17 loss to Chicago on Sunday Jordan Howard Color Rush Jersey , throwing an interception for the first time since September and failing to throw a touchdown pass for the first time in more than a year. Coupled with Minnesota's 41-17 victory against Miami, the Packers (5-8-1) were eliminated from playoff contention for the second straight year. The outcome also clinched the NFC North title for the Bears (10-4), who blew a 20-0 lead in a Week 1 loss to Rodgers and company in Green Bay."Obviously, there will be some changes in the offseason," said Rodgers, who turned 35 on Dec. 2. "We'll finish this year out the right way and then we'll look to the future, which I think is still really bright in Green Bay."Rodgers has towered over one of the NFL's most heated rivalries for years, directing Green Bay to 17 wins in his previous 21 starts against Chicago — including a victory over the Bears in the NFC championship game in the 2010 season at Soldier Field. He had 1,043 yards passing, 10 touchdowns and no interceptions in his past four games against Chicago. But the two-time NFL MVP was never able to get into a rhythm in his first loss at Chicago's longtime home since September 2010. He finished 25 for 42 for 274 yards and an uncharacteristically low passer rating of 68.9."It's a little bit of everything," interim coach Joe Philbin said. "Sometimes it's been the protection, sometimes it's been the routes, sometimes it's been the throws. I don't know that it's just Aaron missing throws. Certainly, there's some throws I'm sure he wish he had back today. I think that's kind of common for a quarterback."Playing behind a banged-up offensive line, Rodgers was on the run for much of the day and was sacked five times. He misfired on a potential touchdown pass to Equanimeous St. Brown midway through the second quarter, and threw long on a deep pass intended for Marquez Valdes-Scantling in the fourth.Asked about the passing game this year, Rodgers said he has missed some throws, but "some of the ones you probably think are missed throws maybe we are just not on the same page."Rodgers also said his groin tightened up on him near the end of the first half and it bothered him "a little bit" the rest of the day. But he plans to start Green Bay's last two games, even with the Packers out of playoff contention."I'd like to be out there, lead us the last two weeks," he said.Even with Rodgers struggling, the Packers headed into the fourth quarter with a chance to win. But Mitchell Trubisky tossed a tiebreaking 13-yard touchdown pass to Trey Burton and Cody Parkey kicked a 24-yard field goal to give the Bears a 24-14 lead with 6:43 left.Green Bay then drove down the field to the Chicago 9. On third down Eddie Jackson Jersey , Rodgers tried for tight end Jimmy Graham over the middle, but the ball got tipped into the air and Eddie Jackson picked it off in the end zone.It was Rodgers' first interception since Sept. 30 against Buffalo, ending an NFL-record streak of 402 pass attempts without an interception."I feel pretty good about the way I've taken care of the football this season," Rodgers said. "We just haven't made enough big plays over the year. That's why the completion percentage is what it is, the yards-per-attempt is what it is, the touchdowns are where they're at. That stuff is disappointing." MINNEAPOLIS 鈥?For the fourth time in the past five years, the Chicago Bears will visit the Minnesota Vikings in the last game on the schedule. For once, this matchup has some meaning. The Vikings, having already ceded the NFC North title to the Bears, have yet to secure a spot in the playoffs. There's no magic formula. There's no button you can push or hours you can put in to suddenly snap your fingers and guarantee a win," Vikings quarterback Kirk Cousins said. Both teams were eliminated before the 2011 finale, too, when the Bears stopped a five-game losing streak to finish at .500. In 2005 https://www.thebearsfanshop.com/Allen-Robinson-Jersey , with the Bears resting most of their starters with the division already clinched,聽a victory by the Vikings wasn't enough to keep coach Mike Tice from being fired after the game聽.Well, finally, these rivals have entered their 2018 season closer in the right positions for a tension-filled game on Sunday."We're going in there really focused," Bears quarterback Mitch Trubisky said. "We know we're going against a really good team."Here are some other key angles to follow:SCOREBOARD WATCHINGThe NFL arranged the schedule to minimize the anticlimactic outcomes, moving the Bears-Vikings game to the late-afternoon slot so it would be played simultaneously with Eagles-Redskins, Cardinals-Seahawks and 49ers-Rams.The Vikings are guaranteed the last wild-card spot if Philadelphia loses at Washington. They would get the No. 5 seed and a first-round game at Dallas with a win and a loss by Seattle at home to Arizona. Their long-shot scenario is starting the postseason in Los Angeles, if they lose to the Bears and the Rams and Eagles lose, too."All the hypotheticals or where we would be at or what we are going to be based on the results of this weekend, I know that we're playing this game to win," Trubisky said."We're going out there with our starters, and we're competing. For me, it's an easy mindset. Coach says, ‘Go,' and we're going."7View Gallery Gallery:Upon Further Review: Vikings at LionsNO PAYBACKThe Bears said they're not seeking payback for Vikings safety Harrison Smith, whose hit on a sliding Trubisky late in the game in Chicago on Nov. 18 drove the second-year quarterback's throwing shoulder into the ground and wound up sidelining him for the following two games."I really put it behind me," Trubisky said. "I didn't even consider it illegal or anything malicious of that nature."Last week, 49ers safety Marcell Harris delivered a late hit on a sliding Trubisky, setting off a skirmish that resulted in the ejection of three players."We're not about being revengeful or getting back to anybody," coach Matt Nagy said. The Vikings have blocked better in the past two games, and the improvement down the stretch by rookie right tackle Brian O'Neill has been particularly visible."We knew at some point it was going to happen," coach Mike Zimmer said. "He's just such a good athlete."NO PLACE LIKE HOMEThe Vikings are 18-6 in the regular season and postseason at U.S. Bank Stadium, and the Bears haven't won in Minnesota since that final game on the 2011 schedule."Our team feeds off the crowd and what they bring," Cousins said. "It's just a great place to play an NFL football game, and I can't say enough good things about the venue, the locker room, the facility and the way our fans spur us on."9View Gallery GalleryHOTOS: Vikings at LionsAP | Copyright The Associated Press. He became the fifth pitcher in the team’s history to give up 10 or more hits without an extra-base hit when he did it April 19 against Philadelphia and is now the first Rockies pitcher in team history to do it twice.“I thought he threw the ball well cheap nba jerseys ,” Colorado manager Bud Black said. “He kept the ball down. He had good command of his fastball and he made critical pitches when he needed to.”Marquez walked none and had seven strikeouts“Overall the fastball was down today and I felt really good with it,” Marquez said through an interpreter. “They did happen to have some good at bats and they got some hits. I think overall you just have to continue to make pitches. You get the job done no matter what.”Trevor Story also homered among his three hits for the Rockies, winners of three of their last four. Nolan Arenado added a two-run triple and Ian Desmond had three hits.Manny Machado and Ty France each had RBI singles for the Padres and Franmil Reyes had three hits.Black attributed the frequency of base hits by the Padres to “the old seeing-eye single.”“A couple of ground balls went through,” Black added, noting that Marquez kept San Diego in the yard, a team that coming into the game had scored 54.4 percent of its runs off homers. That’s the third highest percentage in baseball.Eric Lauer (2-4) went three-plus innings in his shortest outing of the season and allowed a career-high eight runs and eight hits. It was his first outing at Coors Field since making his major league debut here April 24, 2018, when he also went three innings and allowed seven runs, including a slam to Story.“Just didn’t have great command,” Lauer said. “I kind of lost it there in that (big) inning. When you lose command against a team like that cheap jerseys , they’re going to make you pay.”Story staked Marquez to an early lead when he drove the first pitch he saw from Lauer in Colorado’s third inning into the left-field seats. Charlie Blackmon singled ahead of Story’s ninth homer of the season. The Rockies sent 11 batters to the plate in the bottom of the fourth and had their season high for scoring. Tony Wolters‘ infield single with the bases loaded drove in the first run of the inning. Marquez, awarded a Silver Slugger last season when he led all major league pitchers with a .300 average, doubled to the center-field wall to clear the bases.“There were two (pitches) that I just barely missed down,” Lauer said. “I think obviously he knew I was throwing a fastball and he was ready for it. It wasn’t a horrible pitch, but a good hitting pitcher’s going to hit it.”Daniel Murphy added a two-run double and Desmond drove in the last run with his second single of the inning.Marquez allowed three straight singles to start the Padres’ fifth, including Machado’s run-scoring single. But he came back to strike out the side around France’s RBI single.“Marquez was aggressive,” Story said. “He was challenging their guys. He was doing his thing and we got out to an early lead and gave him a little breathing room. It’s nice to have one like that.”TRAINER’S ROOMPadres: INF Fernado Tatis Jr. took ground balls and ran at 75 percent during a workout Friday in extended spring training. Tatis has been on the 10-day injured list since April 30 with a left hamstring strain. There’s no timetable yet for his return.Rockies: LHP Chris Rusin (mid-back strain) made his second rehab appearance Thursday night for Triple-A Albuquerque. He also was expected to pitch an inning there on Saturday. … LHP Jake McGee (left knee sprain) made first rehab appearance Thursday night for Albuquerque. He’s also expected to pitch another inning there Saturday.UP NEXTPadres: LHP Joey Lucchesi (3-2, 5.00 ERA) has gone 4-10 with a 4.96 ERA in 20 career starts against NL West teams.Rockies: RHP Jon Gray (3-3, 4.22 ERA) had his start pushed back after Wednesday night’s game against San Francisco was postponed. Kirk Cousins threw the ball right over the Arizona linebacker trailing Adam Thielen on third-and-1 Youth Patrick Robinson Jersey , a neatly executed seam route by Minnesota's star receiver after a stutter step sprung him open for a 13-yard touchdown catch .Then Thielen circled the offense together in the end zone for a choreographed dead-arm dance he recalled from college, his teammates clumsily swinging to an imaginary beat as the crowd celebrated a 10-point lead over the Cardinals early in the third quarter. There was nothing awkward about this 27-17 victory on Sunday for the Vikings , though. They played a back-to-the-basics game, leaning on some powerful running by Latavius Murray and a smothering defense."We know the offense is very capable of going out there and making big plays and scoring points, especially with the teams we've played with the past few weeks," linebacker Anthony Barr said. "If we do our job on defense, we're going to keep giving ourselves the chance to win."After Thielen scored, the Vikings forced a three-and-out when Harrison Smith had one of Minnesota's four sacks of Josh Rosen to take the rookie down at the 2-yard line. The Vikings took over in Cardinals territory at the 43, and three plays later Cousins sprinted across the goal line on an option-style keeper from the 7. The dead-arm dance broke out again, and the Vikings (3-2-1) were in control."I like to embrace my limitations as a dancer," Cousins said. "I guess I'm honest about it. That's a dance I can get behind."Cousins has clearly embraced his role as a team leader Patrick Robinson Jersey Stitched , even though he's only been a member of the Vikings for seven months. He was nominated last week by defensive tackle Linval Joseph to lead the breakdown prior to pregame warmups on the field in Philadelphia with a message about finishing strong. On the flight home after the Vikings beat the Eagles, Joseph told him to be ready for a repeat. This time, Cousins screamed at his teammates to encourage a similar effort and urge the defense to harass the rookie Rosen. After drafting Teddy Bridgewater, trading for Sam Bradford and signing Case Keenum over coach Mike Zimmer's first four drama-filled seasons, the Vikings let all three of them leave as free agents and signed Cousins instead."The thing I love about this guy is his passion for the game, his intensity that he has," Zimmer said. "He's come in here and taken charge as a leader."Here are some other key developments from the game:ROSEN'S THORNSComing off his first career NFL win against the San Francisco 49ers, Rosen faced a much stiffer test on the road against a Vikings defense that was in sync at all three levels after several displays of uncharacteristic vulnerability over the last few games. Rosen threw one interception while completing 21 of 31 passes for 240 yards, and the Cardinals were 0 for 10 on third down conversions. They were also stopped twice on fourth down tries."The opportunities are there," said Rosen, who took over for Bradford last month. "We find ways to miss them."The Cardinals had 269 total yards Youth Jermon Bushrod Jersey , which happens to be their season high."Am I concerned? Majorly," coach Steve Wilks said.DOUBLE DIPCousins and the Vikings recovered from that sack-fumble-touchdown trifecta in time for a 48-yard field goal by Dan Bailey on the last play from scrimmage of the first half that gave them a 13-10 lead. Then they took the second-half kickoff and went on the 10-play, 75-yard touchdown drive that included four catches for 47 yards by Thielen. The Vikings have actually been focusing on the importance of scoring on the last possession of the first half and the first one of the second half since Zimmer brought it up in a team meeting during organized practices in May."He calls it a 'double dip,'" Cousins said.KEEPING UP WITH JONESIn three career games against the Vikings, Cardinals defensive end Chandler Jones now has 18 tackles, five tackles for loss, 4陆 sacks, four quarterback hits, two forced fumbles, one pass breakup and a touchdown return of a blocked field goal.Jones chopped the ball out during a second quarter sack of Cousins, and Budda Baker scooped it up for a 38-yard touchdown return . The Cardinals also sacked Cousins four times Jermon Bushrod Jersey Stitched , hit him seven times and deflected seven passes, but those became background highlights on an afternoon when the Vikings revived a dormant rushing attack with 195 yards on 32 attempts."Me being one of the captains and one of the leaders of this team, it's my job to stay on top of the guys and get this thing turned around," Jones said.ANOTHER LOSS FOR FITZGERALDThe Cardinals have lost 10 straight games at Minnesota, with the last win coming in 1977 when the franchise was in St. Louis. Wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald has been a part of six of those , and the 15-year veteran's latest visit to his hometown might have been his last as a player."You hope you can change quickly, but all you can do is just keep working at it," Fitzgerald said. Former Saints tight end Benjamin Watson was always one of the most socially active players in the NFL, and a two-time finalist for the league’s Walter Payton Man of the Year award. Now, the recently retired tight end is trying to help rebuild three Louisiana churches.Via Rod Walker of the , Watson said he reached out to the pastors of the three churches to see what could be done.“In speaking with these pastors I am in awe and inspired by their faith and courage Youth DeMario Davis Jersey , comforting their congregations and family members,” Watson said. “Through sadness and shock they spoke of forgiveness for the arsonist and grace for tomorrow. Most importantly, they spoke of being overwhelmed by support from people of goodwill and all religions from around the country. And they were humbled by what God has already done through this series of events.”A 21-year-old man has been arrested for three counts of counts of simple arson of a religious building. The three churches —St. Mary Baptist Church in Port Barre, Greater Union Baptist Church in Opelousas and Mount Pleasant Baptist Church in Opelousas — were burned in a 10-day span in late March and early April.“While I reserve judgment on the man arrested for this crime until proven guilty, the fact that black churches were burned to the ground is a reminder of the fear and pain so many communities have repeatedly experienced since emancipation,” Watson said. “This trauma resides deep within all of us, black and white, in America.”Watson also used his social media platform to spread the word for donations in helping to rebuild for the congregations.

The New York Jets will be short-handed in Chicago.Wide receiver Robby Anderson is doubtful for Sunday's game because of an ankle injury that kept him out of practice all week. Receiver Quincy Enunwa was previously ruled out with a high ankle sprain. That leaves rookie quarterback Sam Darnold without two top receivers."We've got a few guys banged up Dalton Schultz Jersey Stitched , but, I mean, we've got guys in here and they've been practicing," coach Todd Bowles said Friday. "We expect them to play well on Sunday."Jermaine Kearse and recently signed Rishard Matthews could see lots of action , with Andre Roberts, Charone Peake and rookie Deontay Burnett also healthy."We've got all hands on deck this week," Bowles said.Kearse is third on the team with 16 catches and led the Jets with 65 receptions last year, so he's used to being counted on in the offense."I don't think pressure is what I would feel," Kearse said. "I go out every week Youth Mike White Jersey , regardless, with the same mindset and make the most of each opportunity. It's no different this week. As far as pressure having to step up because we've got some guys out, I don't think I would change anything I would do normally."Matthews was signed Monday, four weeks after he was granted his request to be released by Tennessee. He has been cramming in extra work on the practice field with Darnold and the other receivers, trying to quickly get up to speed."We'll have a plan for him on Sunday if he plays and we'll kind of go from there," Bowles said. "I'm not expecting him to learn everything all at once, but we've got other guys that can play as well, so we'll make that determination."Burnett was promoted from the practice squad last Saturday after the Jets released Terrelle Pryor with an injury settlement after he hurt his groin. Pryor recently posted videos of him working out, saying he was healthy and ready to go Mike White Jersey Stitched , but Bowles said re-signing him this weekend wouldn't be in the team's plans and the Jets would re-evaluate the situation next week. Pryor's locker remained intact nearly a week after he was let go.Burnett played against Minnesota last Sunday and caught his first regular-season pass, a 9-yarder from Darnold — who was his college quarterback at USC.The speedy 6-foot, 186-pound speedster could help fill Anderson's role as a receiver who could stretch the field for Darnold."You don't want those guys out because they're key contributors to our team, but it's the next-man-up mentality," Burnett said. "Practice this week has been good. As long as you prepare, you shouldn't go out there with any doubts."The Jets' backfield is banged up, too, with Bilal Powell out for the season with a neck injury. That leaves Isaiah Crowell and rookie Trenton Cannon as the only running backs on the roster, although Bowles said promoting De'Angelo Henderson from the practice squad is a consideration if they choose to add someone else to the mix.Center Spencer Long is questionable with finger and knee ailments after originally being listed as doubtful. He has struggled in recent weeks with shotgun snaps Youth Taco Charlton Jersey , so Jonotthan Harrison or Dakota Dozier would replace him on the starting offensive line if he can't play.Harrison worked quite a bit at center with Darnold in training camp, so he would appear to be the likely choice."If that were to be the case on Sunday, I know we're more than prepared," Harrison said.Left tackle Kelvin Beachum is questionable with a back injury, but participated on a limited basis at practice Thursday and Friday after sitting out Wednesday. The secondary got a boost with cornerback Buster Skrine cleared from the concussion protocol after he missed two games. It was the fourth concussion suffered by Skrine in the last three years, but he isn't concerned about possible long-term effects."I feel good," he said. "If I felt like I couldn't play, then I wouldn't go back out there. ... You can't worry about things day-to-day or down the road. You've got to live for now."Skrine is usually the Jets' slot cornerback, but could see work on the outside Taco Charlton Jersey Stitched , too, against the Bears. Fellow cornerback Trumaine Johnson (quadriceps) is doubtful and Morris Claiborne (shoulder/foot) is questionable.Safety Marcus Maye is also questionable with a broken thumb that sidelined him last week. Doug Middleton, his replacement, is out for the year after tearing a pectoral muscle, so Maye's return would be a big help. The Jets also signed former Cowboys and Browns safety Ibraheim Campbell this week to add depth. The Cowboys already knew they wouldn’t have defensive lineman David Irving, whom they ruled out Saturday with an ankle injury. They also won’t have defensive end Randy Gregory.Dallas also listed Gregory among its seven inactives. He will miss the game with a knee injury.Starting tight end Geoff Swaim, who was doubtful with a knee injury, also won’t play. Blake Jarwin will start for him.The Cowboys will have starting right guard Zack Martin, who was questionable with a knee injury. The team’s other inactives are quarterback Mike White Youth Chidobe Awuzie Jersey , receiver Tavon Austin (groin), linebacker Joe Thomas (foot) and guard Xavier Su'a-Filo.The Titans will play without starting inside linebacker Will Compton, who was questionable with a hamstring injury. They already had ruled out starting outside linebacker Derrick Morgan (shoulder).Tennessee’s other inactives are cornerback Kenneth Durden, fullback Jalston Fowler, guard Aaron Stinnie, tackle Tyler Marz and defensive end Matt Dickerson.

The Colts tackle situation has not been pretty this season. The presumed starter at right tackle Denzelle Good has struggled with injuries and hasn’t really impressed in his limited playing time either. Anthony Castonzo— the starter at left tackle for years— has yet to play in a regular season game to this point. Joe Haeg filled in very well at both tackle spots due to these injuries but was recently placed on IR with an ankle injury. La’Raven Clark has been filling in at left tackle in Castonzo’s absence and has been less than stellar. So in short Womens Kenny Moore 2019 Jersey , the tackle situation — at least in terms of the revolving door it’s become — has been a mess. Heading into the matchup this past Thursday with the Patriots, the Colts were forced to turn to rookie guard Braden Smith to start at right tackle. Smith had very little experience at tackle in his career before this start. He had quite a few reps in the preseason at that spot but besides that he only logged a couple games at tackle in college. So how did Smith— again let me remind you, he was a guard prospect coming into the pros— do at right tackle this past Thursday? Let’s look at the coaches film of his pass blocking and find out.PositivesSmith really impressed me in his first NFL start, especially in pass blocking. The hardest thing when making the shift from guard to tackle is not really run blocking, but how to engage defenders and how to control your footwork in pass blocking. It’s an entirely different position in pass blocking from a guard. Smith had a few hiccups which we will go over later but he showed a bunch of promising signs. His ability to use his natural strength to his advantage was evident from the first play. His ability to anchor against bull rushes with a solid base as well is what really caught my eye. His agility in matching speed rushers was also much better than expected. But lets look at the film here so you all can make your own assessment. In our first clip here, Smith is tasked with blocking veteran pass rusher Kyle Van Noy. Now Van Noy is a pretty unspectacular pass rusher but he profiles as a speed rusher who would give a player like Smith trouble. Smith is able to get in front of Van Noy with a quick kick slide and control Van Noy with strong hands at the point of attack. He then shuts off any rush or counters that Van Noy can attempt to do by keeping his hands inside and keeping a good square base. Overall very solid, controlled rep by Smith. In our next clip, Smith is again matched up with Van Noy. Van Noy was unsuccessful in our last clip trying to speed rush Smith so here he attempts to bull rush the rookie. Most rookies struggle with rushes like these becasue they don’t establish a solid base to react to the rush. Smith is able to keep his his base wide so when the bull rush hits him, he is able to anchor well and push Van Noy back and out of the pocket. It does help though that Smith is one of the strongest lineman in football so regardless I don’t think Van Noy was going to have a chance attempting to bull rush him.Next, Smith is up against a better player in Malcom Brown. It is a pretty poor rush as Brown obviously has no plan of attack on this rep but Smith is able to stay disciplined and square to Brown while Brown is attempting to manuever around Smith. This rep is important because a lot of young lineman are very sporadic with their movements and tend to overset or over commit to what their defender is doing. Here Smith is very calm and poised as he keeps his hands on Brown at all times and keeps him right in front. This was a very veteran-type rep from the second round rookie. Here, the Patriots attempt to pull off a stunt on Smith. Defensive tackle Adam Butler twists with Adrian Clayborn attempting to confuse Smith. This does not work as Smith is able to get inside position on Butler and just stonewalls him at the point of attack. Now I do think this stunt surprised Smith, but he is able to recover well and just eliminate Butler from the play. His natural strength to not even be phased by Butler bull rushing into him is pretty impressive. Butler never had a chance once he stopped his feet. This next rep comes against the Patriots top pass rusher in Trey Flowers. You can see from the beginning of the rep how much better Flowers is than Van Noy at rushing the passer. Flowers attempts to bull rush Smith in order to set up either a rip or an under move. Smith is able to stay square and balanced to Flowers and is able to not give up too much ground on the initial bull rush. Notice how well Smith is able to anchor against this bull rush too as he regains position after only a few steps back. As Flowers attempts to go for a rip or an under move Indianapolis Colts Skai Moore Jersey , Smith fights for inside position on his pads with his hands. By continually fighting with his hands to get inside position on Flowers, Smith is able to effectively keep Flowers at bay until Luck can roll out and release the ball. Very good rep against a very good pass rusher here. This next rep is rather quick, but again just watch how well Smith stays square to his defender and punches at the point of the attack. He does a great job of getting his left hand up first— its really hard to see unless you zoom in— and controlling the play. By getting that left hand up and initiating that contact without lunging forward, he is effectively controlling the rusher at all times. Even if the rusher can shed the block, Smith has already established inside position on him so Smith can at least have the opportunity to recover. This may be one of the worst pass rushes I’ve seen from Van Noy here but I do want to highlight something about this play that is positive for Smith. While Van Noy is jumping back and forth and juking around without any plan of attack, Smith has the agility to mirror and match his movements very well. He isn’t over committing or getting grabby, he’s matching his movements and staying square to the defender. Just an excellent rep to be patient and match Van Noy’s movements rather than lunging at him and getting out of position.Last clip here in the positives (yes I know its a lot) is against Trey Flowers yet again. Flowers attempts to bull rush Smith and Smith again just stonewalls it. He initially looks to be caught off guard by the bull rush but again his natural strength and ability to anchor show as he is able to reestablish position and stop the rush. Being able to shut down good pass rushers like Flowers is going to be key for Smith if he continues to start at right tackles, especially in the AFC South. NegativesSurprisingly, I didn’t notice too many glaring negatives from Smith in this out-of-position start. I will say that he does struggle with things that you would completely expect from a player who is playing out of position. His kick slide could use a little bit of work as it is a bit stiff and will hurt him against true speed rushers. His awareness at times is lacking simply because he lacks a natural feel for the position still. He also still does get a little bit grabby at times but that issue seems to be much improved from the preseason. In this first rep, Smith is actually lined up at left tackle (on the far right of the screen). This is one rep where his slower and stiffer kick slide will cause some issues. He is lined up against John Simon who is actually a good speed rusher and he takes advantage here. Smith is a bit slow out of his stance and Simon is able to take the edge before Smith even gets to his second step. This flaw didn’t show up much against the Patriots but could against better pass rushers. Luckily though, I think the coaching staff will see this as well and really work with him this week. In our last negative clip —yep only two negative clips on this film room— Smith shows off his lack of awareness that I previously mentioned. Flowers twists inside leaving Smith without a player to block. Ideally, you would want Smith in this situation to be keeping a hand on Flowers and helping Matt Slauson while also keeping his head on a swivel outside for any corner blitzes or any stunts coming back at him. Smith does not do either of these things and as a result a slot corner gets a free rush at Andrew Luck. I think this flaw will correct itself with time though as Smith just needs more reps at right tackle to pick up on these things. AnalysisOverall Indianapolis Colts Robert Okereke Jersey , I think this was a very good debut from Braden Smith at right tackle. Standing at 6’6” 315 pounds, Smith always profiled as someone who could play tackle, but would just need time to develop if that was the switch they wanted to make. He seems to be far ahead in where the Colts even expected him to be at this point which seems to be a common trend in this 2018 draft class. Now he does have some work to do. He was able to get away with a couple of flaws against the Patriots simply because their pass rushers are quite sub par. Against division rivals such as the Jaguars (Calais Campbell, Yannick Ngakoue), the Texans (JJ Watt, Jadaveon Clowney) and the Titans (Harold Landry) Smith will have to be at the top of his game. Luckily though, he appears to already be very advanced in his hand usage and ability to anchor along with having excellent natural strength. It’s too early to say that the Colts have found their long time answer at right tackle but Thursday’s game was certainly a good start. Smith has a stretch here where he doesn’t have to face too many good edge rushers— against the Jets and the Raiders— so it’ll be pivotal for him to build off of this promising start. Overall though, it is hard not to get excited about this rookie debut as Smith has the build, athleticism, and strength to be a very good right tackle in the NFL. If he continues to improve and build off of this performance, we could be looking at three very good starters from the first three picks in the 2018 draft for the Colts. While Braden Smith’s game stood out the most against the Dolphins, there were numerous key blocks and penalties called involving other players. The final Colts Film Room for the Week 12 game against Miami will analyze these plays. If you missed it Womens Robert Okereke 2019 Jersey , we already spent time focusing on Smith’s struggles. Zach Hicks also broke down center Evan Boehm’s performance and offered a season-long perspective on second-year corner Quincy Wilson.Let’s see who else stood out.No player has had a greater impact on the improvement of the Colts offensive line since Week 5 than starting left tackle Anthony Castonzo (#74). Indianapolis did not give up a sack for five weeks after he returned to the lineup and the ground game started to pick up considerably. These facts don’t mean that Castonzo will be perfect on every snap. This is the first would-be sack of Andrew Luck that was called off due to a defensive penalty. Let me be clear, had this remained a sack, it would not be all on Castonzo. Luck holds the ball way too long here. Even Quenton Nelson (#56) is holding on for dear life by the time Luck goes down. However, it is entirely fair to point out that Castonzo lost the edge on this block. Robert Quinn (#94) is able to turn the corner too soon and it leaves Castonzo desperately reaching to knock him off track. It has been some time since Luck has taken a shot like this one.We will call this play The Great Escape颅鈩? This sealed the game and is an example of the type of play that few NFL quarterbacks are able to make. Luck’s ability to feel pressure and the strength and athleticism to avoid it and maintain his balance after contact is incredible. If he goes down here, the Colts are forced to punt and the game is not decided until overtime. There were two losses by the offensive line. Castonzo fails to seal Andre Branch (#50). He gets far too much penetration and is dangerously close to a sack, or a possible strip sack. This is a match-up between an offensive tackle and a linebacker, and Castonzo needs to anchor better. Branch gets up into his collar bones and controls the engagement.Mark Glowinski (#64) also fails to block Akeem Spence (#93). Spence is running a slant, crossing the face of the center and attempting to go through the B gap outside of Glowinski. Center Evan Boehm (#67) passes Spence outside but Glowsinki fails to seal. Spence is already parallel with him and crossing the line of scrimmage by the time he attempts to recover. The pending convergence of Spence and Branch are what forces Luck to escape. Pressure from both sides, no escape route to the outside, and pressure coming into a quarterback’s face is almost always check mate. Castonzo and Glowinski are lucky and their charming quarterback is something special. One of the primary areas that received a considerable boost after Castonzo returned from injury is the running game. This play could have gone for huge yardage. Unfortunately, Castonzo failed to maintain his block on Quinn, who rips out of the block and tackles Marlon Mack (#25) shortly after he cross the line of scrimmage. If Castonzo holds his block. Boehm’s second-level block and Jack Doyle’s (#84) seal on Kiko Alonso (#47) would have given Mack a whole lot of green to work with.Speaking of Jack Doyle Indianapolis Colts Robert Okereke Jersey , if you want to know why it will hurt to lose his contributions on offense, look at this play. I’ve already noted that Doyle is the best blocking tight end on the team. He is more effective sealing on run plays and chipping before he goes out into his route than any other player on the roster. Here, Doyle chips down on Branch and releases to seal the outside lane for Mack. He finds Rakwon McMillan (#52), initiates the block, and runs him 8 yards downfield. If Boehm is able to get a better block on Spence in the middle of the field, Mack has an inside cut-back lane and might still be running. One of the most challenging areas for young NFL running backs is pass protection. There are numerous reasons. Some want to avoid extra contact, given that they play an already brutally physical position. Some don’t understand who to block or how to identify pressure pre-snap to be very effective. Some make contact but are simply ineffective.Indianapolis has three running backs on the roster with less than two full years of experience. Only Jordan Wilkins has any meaningful size, as it relates to taking or delivering a blow as a blocker. One of the biggest concerns for feature rusher Marlon Mack last season was his weakness as a blocker, particularly compared to Frank Gore. This is an example of Mack making some progress. His first step is to release to his right but he keeps his eyes on the defense and quickly recognizes the blitz. He takes a hard step and generates a lot of speed in a short space to deny the blitz and give Luck a clean pocket. This is Quenton’s Nelson’s first holding call. The play is supposed to go to the right but Boehm is unable to kick the defender out of the rushing lane. Mack is left to improvise and bounces back to find some running room. There isn’t any to be found. Branch is waiting to clean up the play as Castonzo had released to the second level to look for defenders to block downfield. Nelson displays an incredible first step and athleticism to seal inside. Davon Godchaux (#56) drives him back into the traffic and forces him to stand up. For all intents and purposes. both players are out of the play at this point. Godchaux has his back to Mack and has no idea he is there until he is smoked in the side as Mack dives forward for yards. The reason Nelson drew the penalty is because his left hand is on Godchaux’s shoulder pad.It is unlikely that this play turns out any different if Nelson’s hand is inside the shoulder pad but that is what draws the call. This hold may have been called for similar reasons. Nelson squares up Sylvester Williams (#98). Once Williams notices the play is going outside, after he started to commit inside, he reaches out to make a play. Reaching means you surrender your base. When you surrender your base against Quenton Nelson, you drink tea.Note that Nelson’s right hand is outside of Williams’ shoulder pad. this is the logical explanation for the holding call. However Cheap Alize Mack Youth Jersey , we slow down the play considerably to highlight the movement of Nelson’s right hand. He can’t be holding with that hand when the hand is free to move up and down in the frame. What makes the call more frustrating is that the flag is thrown from the side judge who is about 15 yards away off-screen to the right. He is looking through Marlon Mack as he runs by and determines that because Williams is on the ground, Nelson must have held him.Speaking of drinking tea, Nelson serves up a particularly strong batch on this play. He quickly establishes outside leverage to seal Robert Quinn inside. Nyheim Hines (#21) is releasing outside to create yards in space on this play.Once Nelson gains the advantage, he presses it. For good measure, he presses it some more. He wants to let Quinn know who Daddy is, in case he had forgotten. It is hard not to love seeing an offensive lineman do this kind of thing. Particularly if he is on your team.I bet Andrew Luck sleeps well at night.

Browns vs. Raiders Final Score: Wild game full of mistakes and big plays sees Cleveland fall 45-42 I feel empty. After a 28-14 lead mid-way through the third quarter Cleveland Browns Lyndell Wilson Jersey , the Browns collapsed, allowing 20 unanswered to the Raiders. Cleveland then scored 14 unanswered themselves, but Oakland got a touchdown and a 2-point conversion to end regulation at 42-42, sending the game to overtime. With under two minutes to go, Oakland kicked the game-winning field goal, dropping the Browns to 1-2-1 with a 45-42 loss. The Browns’ defense stopped the Raiders for three-and-outs to begin the game, but Cleveland’s offense didn’t fare so well. Baker Mayfield’s first two passes were dropped by Jarvis Landry and Rashard Higgins, respectively. On the next series, Antonio Callaway slipped out of his break, then had a pass go off his hands and into the arms of cornerback Gareon Conley, who returned it 36 yards for a touchdown, putting Oakland up 7-0.Cleveland drove down to the 1 yard line on their next drive. Despite having a 1st-and-goal, though, the Browns could not punch it in and had to settle for a 25-yard field goal to cut it to 7-3 in the first quarter. The Raiders missed a 47-yard field goal in the second quarter, and then on Cleveland’s first play of their next drive, RB Nick Chubb got the carry and went all the way for an electric 63-yard touchdown! Head coach Hue Jackson decided to go for two, despite the score being 9-7. Mayfield hit Callaway square in the numbers, but he dropped it.Cleveland forced a punt on Oakland’s next drive, and then Mayfield drilled backup TE Darren Fells for a 49-yard catch-and-run touchdown! The Browns went for two again, and this time they got it, with RB Duke Johnson taking the handoff to the corner to make it a 17-7 game.Oakland put together their best drive of the first half, completing a series of passes and getting some tough runs by RB Marshawn Lynch. The drive was capped off by an 8-yard touchdown pass from QB Derek Carr to WR Amari Cooper, cutting the Browns’ lead to 17-14.The Browns had to punt at the two-minute warning Womens Lyndell Wilson 2019 Jersey , and now Oakland had another shot to strike back. The Raiders were about to get into field goal range, but then LB Joe Schobert had good coverage on a seam pass to TE Jared Cook, allowing the pass to fall back into the arms of CB E.J. Gaines for an interception. Cleveland went into the half still up 17-14.The Browns extended their lead to begin the third quarter. It was an efficient drive by Mayfield, but Oakland’s defense held Cleveland to a 28-yard field goal attempt for a 20-14 lead. Carr was picked off on his next drive by FS Damarious Randall, who returned the interception 50 yards to the Raiders’ 30 yard line. Mayfield took a shot at WR Jarvis Landry to the end zone, but a pass interference call gave Cleveland a 1st-and-goal situation. Two plays later, Mayfield found Landry on the fade for a 2-yard touchdown and a 26-14 lead. The Browns went for two with another handoff to Johnson. He was initially ruled down before he dove for the end zone, but Cleveland challenged and won, giving them a 28-14 lead.Cleveland’s defense forced another punt, and just when it looked like they were in control, the pocket collapsed on Mayfield and he fumbled with the Raiders recovering at the 7 yard line. The Browns forced back-to-back incompletions, setting up 3rd-and-goal from the 7. On third down, though, Carr gunned a pass right up the middle to TE Jared Cook for a touchdown, closing to within 28-21.Cleveland went three-and-out, and a short punt kept the momentum with Oakland. But the Raiders played a little sloppy themselves, resulting in a three-and-out. The punt was a touchback, bringing the ball out to the 20 yard line with under three minutes to go in the third quarter. Another three-and-out saw Cleveland punting the ball right back to Oakland. Just before the quarter ended, the Raiders got a big 52-yard run from RB Marshawn Lynch, inside the red zone. In the fourth quarter, an awesome third down stop by Randall forced Oakland to settle for a 29-yard field goal, cutting the Browns’ lead to 28-24. The Browns’ disastrous stretch on offense continued. On 2nd-and-2, C J.C. Tretter snapped the ball early Cleveland Browns Lyndell Wilson Jersey , leading to a fumble and a Raiders recovery deep in Cleveland territory. Two plays later, Carr found WR Jordy Nelson for a 19-yard touchdown pass, bringing Oakland all the way back to take a 30-27 lead with under 13 minutes to go in the fourth quarter. When Cleveland got the ball back, more dropped passes added up, including one from TE David Njoku right up the seam. On the three-and-out, P Britton Colquitt had his 53-yard punt returned 49 yards into Cleveland territory. The defense forced a quick three-and-out, setting up a 44-yard field goal attempt on the dirt, which was drilled to push Oakland’s lead to 34-28.With under 9 minutes to go, Mayfield found WR Antonio Callaway streaking across the field for a 59-yard catch-and-run down to the 1 yard line! The first down handoff to Hyde gained half a yard. On second down, Hyde punched it in to tie the game at 34-34. For the first time all game, the Browns went for the extra point, and K Greg Joseph nailed it, putting Cleveland back on top 35-34.The Browns sacked Carr on the next series, leading to a punt. A few plays later, Chubb got his third carry of the game, and ripped off another big run: this one for 41 yards and a touchdown! A delay of game penalty pushed the extra point try back five yards, but Joseph still connecting on it, giving the team a 42-34 lead with 4:20 to go.The Raiders drove into the red zone pretty quickly. But after the two-minute warning, back-to-back incompletions resulted in a turnover on downs. The Browns took over with 1:51 to go and Oakland having all three timeouts. Cleveland appeared to get a first down to seal the victory, but replay review changed the call, making it 4th-and-1. The Raiders burned all their timeouts, but Cleveland punted with 1:28 to go, getting the ball at midfield. Carr drove Oakland down for the touchdown with 0:30 to go Cheap Lyndell Wilson Youth Jersey , a 7-yard pass to the corner for Cook. They had to go for two, and WR Jordy Nelson out-muscled CB T.J. Carrie for the conversion, despite tight coverage, tying it up at 42-42.With 0:30 to go, the Browns had three timeouts. An 11 yard pass to Njoku on first down — 0:23 left. Then a 15-yard completion to Johnson to the 49 yard line — 0:15 left. Mayfield tried taking a covered shot to Callaway, but it was intercepted by S Reggie Nelson, sending the game to overtime. Oakland won the coin toss and opted to receive, needing a touchdown on their first series to end the game outright. Carrie bit on a third down fake, allowing a big catch to WR Amari Cooper to get Oakland into field goal range. On 3rd-and-3, a blitz and a sack by LB Jamie Collins pushed Oakland back to the 32 yard line. They were opting to pass on a 50-yard field goal, but then took a timeout. Jon Gruden sent his rookie kicker out there in his first game, and on the dirt, he just barely missed wide left. That created a sudden death situation, with Cleveland having good starting field position at their own 40 yard line. After a first down throwaway, Mayfield completed a pass to Njoku for 5 yards, setting up 3rd-and-5 from their own 45 yard line. Mayfield’s improvised third down heave to Johnson was batted down, and the ensuing punt gave Oakland the ball at the 19 yard line, now needing any score to win. An acrobatic 24-yard catch on third down by Cook put the ball at midfield. Oakland continued driving into field goal range as time winded down. The rookie kicker drilled the 29-yarder for the win.Quick HittersQB Baker Mayfield: 21-of-41 for 295 yards, 2 touchdowns, 1 interception, 2 fumbles lost.RB Carlos Hyde: 22 carries, 82 yards, 1 touchdown.RB Nick Chubb: 3 carries Orange Jaelen Strong Jersey , 105 yards, 2 touchdowns.WR Jarvis Landry: 4 catches, 34 yards, 1 touchdown (10 targets).TE Darren Fells: 1 catch, 49 yards, 1 touchdown (2 targets).2 interceptions, 3 sacks. The Raiders out-gained the Browns 562 yards to 487 yards. Gregg Williams wasn’t the only coach shown the door by new Browns coach Freddie Kitchens on Wednesday. The team’s ninth full-time head coach cleaned house.Quarterbacks coach Ken Zampese, special teams coordinator Amos Jones, offensive line coach Bob Wylie, linebackers coach Blake Williams, assistant defensive backs Jerod Kruse, tight ends coach Greg Seamon, assistant defensive backs coach Jerod Kruse, offensive quality control coach Brian Braswell, offensive assistant Bob Saunders, assistant offensive line coach Mark Hutson, defensive quality control coach Eric Sanders, assistant special teams coach Sam Shade and special teams assistant Josh Cribbs won’t return next season, Mary Kay Cabot of the reports.Former NFL quarterback Ryan Lindley, whom Kitchens brought in to coach the running backs after he became coordinator, could become the quarterbacks coach. Receivers coach Adam Henry and defensive backs coach DeWayne Walker are expected to stay, according to Cabot.

NEW ORLEANS (AP) — An egregious mistake by the refs overshadowed the Los Angeles Rams‘ moment of triumph.Too bad. This is one amazing L.A. Story. For all the debate stirred by a blatant penalty that wasn’t called in the closing minutes of the NFC championship game New Orleans Saints Kaden Elliss Jersey , the Rams thoroughly earned their 26-23 overtime victory over the New Orleans Saints on Sunday.Playing in one of the NFL’s most intimidating road environments, the Rams rallied from an early 13-0 deficit. With the clock winding down, they drove for a tying field goal. And, finally, they came up with a huge interception in overtime to set up Greg Zuerlein’s 57-yard field goal — the longest kick ever to win a playoff game.“We get to play in the Super Bowl,” quarterback Jared Goff said, “and we deserve it.”No doubt.Just three seasons after moving back to Southern California from St. Louis, the Rams completed a remarkable rise to prominence, led by their 32-year-old wunderkind of a coach, Sean McVay Womens Kaden Elliss 2019 Jersey , and the youngest QB ever to win an NFC title. The next stop is Atlanta, where they’ll face the five-time champion New England Patriots in the Feb. 3 Super Bowl.We have a lot of respect for the Saints, but there was an expectation, there was a belief that we were coming in here not to just compete with them but to win the football game,” McVay said. “We knew it was going to be a great challenge, but the guys stayed the course.’Of course, this game will long be remembered for the call that wasn’t on Drew Brees‘ pass to Tommylee Lewis inside the 5-yard line.Beaten badly on the play, Rams cornerback Nickell Robey-Coleman leveled Lewis long before the ball arrived — with a helmet-to-helmet hit, no less. Everyone at the Superdome knew it was a penalty. Everyone, that is New Orleans Saints Chauncey Gardner-Johnson Jersey , except two officials who were staring right at it.Their flags stayed tucked in their pockets, forcing the Saints to settle for Wil Lutz’s 31-yard field goal that made it 23-20 with 1:41 left in regulation.“Came to the sideline, looked at the football gods and was like, ‘Thank you,'” Robey-Coleman said. “I got away with one tonight.”After the no-call, Goff had enough time to get the Rams in position for Zuerlein’s tying field goal, a 48-yarder with 15 seconds remaining.New Orleans won the coin toss and got the ball first in overtime. But, with Dante Fowler Jr. in his face and striking his arm, Brees fluttered up a pass that was picked off by John Johnson III, who was able to hang on to the interception while stumbling backward. Johnson hopped up and celebrated by doing the “Choppa Style” dance popularized by New Orleans rapper Choppa Womens Chauncey Gardner-Johnson 2019 Jersey , whose namesake song had become a Saints’ rallying cry.The Rams weren’t able to do much offensively, but it didn’t matter. Zuerlein booted through the winning field goal from just inside midfield with plenty of room to spare.“Whether we go through some adversity or we experience some success, we do not let that change us or affect us,” Zuerlein said “We just keep on keeping on.”It was the first home playoff loss for the Saints with Brees and coach Sean Payton, who had been 6-0 at the Superdome since their pairing began in 2006.This one really hurt.If the pass interference penalty had been called, the Saints could’ve run most of the time off the clock to set up a winning field goal from chip-shot range. A replay was shown over and over on the Superdome’s giant video boards, prompting some fans to toss trash on the field.“Being that it happened right there in front of the person who would be the one to make the call, and everyone in the stands saw it, everyone watching at home on TV saw it, that makes it even more difficult to take New Orleans Saints Connor McGovern Jersey ,” Brees said. “Because of this, I’m sure there will be a lot of talk about reviewing penalties, perhaps game-changing penalties.”The Rams (15-3) will be appearing in its first Super Bowl since the 2001 season, when the “Greatest Show on Turf” was still in St. Louis. The team hasn’t won an NFL title in Los Angeles since 1951, well before the Super Bowl era. The team moved to St. Louis in 1995, only to return to L.A. two decades later. It was another bitter end for the Saints, who lost the previous season in the divisional round on the “Minnesota Miracle” — the Vikings‘ long touchdown pass on the final play of the game. This time, New Orleans (14-4) couldn’t hang on to the lead or overcome that brutal officiating mistake.Payton said he talked to the NFL office after the game and was told that Robey-Coleman should have been flagged.“Not only was it interference, it was helmet to helmet,” the coach said. “I don’t know if there was ever a more obvious pass interference.” Cowboys owner Jerry Jones was downright giddy after Thursday’s victory over the Saints. So Cheap Connor McGovern Youth Jersey , too, were the television networks. America’s Team still has big games against the Eagles and Colts remaining and will host a playoff game if it can hold onto the top spot in the NFC East. The Cowboys guarantee big ratings.Last night, an average audience of 22.2 million viewers across all platforms watched Dallas’ 13-10 victory over the Saints, making it the most-watched Thursday Night Football game ever, according to the NFL. That is up 39 percent from last season’s Dallas-Washington game on Thursday night in Week 13.The Cowboys-Saints averaged a 12.6 household rating. That comes a week after the Cowboys drew the most eyes for any game this season, an annual tradition. Their Thanksgiving Day game against Washington had a 12.5 rating and 30.5 million viewers.Including viewership on streaming and Spanish-language platforms, the Cowboys-Washington game a week ago drew 30.8 million viewers.

Game day has finally arrived. The Dallas Cowboys will face a huge test against the Seattle Seahawks to determine if they are worthy a playing in the Divisional Round next weekend. The last time the Cowboys lost in a Wild Card game was back in 2006 Demarcus Lawrence Jersey White , which just so happened to be against the Seahawks. Hopefully, things turn out differently this time around and a few of us front-page writers have our own idea of how things will go down. Here are some final game-score predictions and a few players to keep an eye on today.Danny PhantomAs much as we’ve been talking about the playmaking ability of both Russell Wilson and Dak Prescott, as well as strong running backs in Ezekiel Elliott and Chris Carson, don’t be surprised if things start off slow offensively. With both defenses showing they can play well at various points in the season, this is a game where those units will bring the intensity. Expect to see more punts that you would like early on.Frustration will start to set in as fans will have early regrets about a missed opportunity here or there, which will ultimately lead to an anxiety-filled contest. Try to take a deep breath and embrace it. Enjoy the ride that is playoff football. While a close game tends to favor an experienced Wilson Womens Amari Cooper Jersey , remember - Prescott can be as cool as the other side of the pillow. Dak and company turn it on in the second half and look for DeMarcus Lawrence to seal the deal with a sack/fumble similarly to what he did against the Detroit Lions in 2014.X-Factor: Michael GallupWith all the attention on DeMarco Murray and Dez Byrant back in 2014, Terrance Williams caught only four passes, but three of them were for touchdowns, including the game winner against the Lions. Look for Gallup to have that same type of freedom as the Seahawks defense has to worry about Elliott, Amari Cooper, Cole Beasley Ezekiel Elliott Jersey White , and even their newest weapon, Blake Jarwin.Game Prediction: Cowboys 24 - Seahawks 20Tom RyleI think this is going to be a Slinky game for the Cowboys. What that means is that I think Dallas will get out to a two score lead early, and then the rest of the game will be the Seahawks closing to within a single possession and Dallas answering, so the lead expands and contracts just like a Slinky. But I do expect Dallas to lead the entire way. That has been the pattern in several games this season, with Dallas often getting on the board first and then finding a way to stay ahead. One thing I am not worried about at all is the Cowboys being ready for this one. In this case, the short week actually helps them keep the edge they need. X-Factor: Dalton SchultzThis week’s game plan is going to use Schultz to exploit their attention elsewhere. He won’t have the monster game that Jarwin did Womens Taco Charlton Jersey , but will get around 60 yards and, most importantly, a red zone TD.Game Prediction: Cowboys 27 - Seahawks 21David HowmanI think the game is going to be a nail-biter pretty much the whole game. Zeke is going to have a great game but I expect Russell Wilson to make plays and keep it close before Dak comes up with a game winning drive in the end to get a 31-28 victory.X-Factor: Tavon AustinAustin adds so much in both punt returns and his ability as a runner and receiver, and specifically because there’s so little game tape on how we use him with our current offense.Game Prediction: Cowboys 31 - Seahawks 28Here are a few responses from Twitter:What are you final score game predictions for today’s contest? Who do you have as your X-Factor? Cowboys brass has been out in the desert."NFL owners and dignitaries have been out in Phoenix, AZ this week as part of the annual owners meetings. They discussed a variety of things, including potential changes to the rules Taco Charlton Jersey , and made a few decisions as one collective group. While league-wide discussions and decisions took place there were some notable pieces of information that surfaced regarding the Dallas Cowboys. Jerry Jones had a bit to say on Monday, but head coach Jason Garrett was finally made available on Tuesday.Jason Witten’s role is still kind of up in the airJason Witten is returning to the Cowboys this season after a year away in the MNF booth and apparently is of the understanding that it will be for a more-reduced role than he’s been used to. This seems hard to believe. While Jerry Jones sort of joked about this in the same way, Jason Garrett gave his usual roundabout answer regarding Witten’s usage.Jason Garrett isn’t worried about his contract situationA lot has been made about 2019 being a contract year for the head coach. While that is true it doesn’t seem like that’s bothering him these days, although these days are in March and not December.Dallas isn’t really missing their first-round pickObviously the Cowboys flipped their first-round pick in this year’s draft for Amari Cooper back during the bye week last season and as a result they’ll have to sit out the first 32 picks in the NFL Draft. Many have said that Amari Cooper is their first-rounder and while that sounds great it still means that they don’t get to pick. Jason Garrett is still happy.Jason Garrett sees a lot of himself in Kellen MooreA former Cowboys quarterback that wore number 17 in his playing days is now the offensive coordinator in Dallas, and no this isn’t a sentence from 2007. Kellen Moore has taken a very similar path to get to where he is now that Jason Garrett took, something the head coach is aware of.The Cowboys want DeMarcus Lawrence to make more moneyThe biggest elephant in the room for Dallas right now is the state of the long-term contract that DeMarcus Lawrence will hopefully receive. Jason Garrett elaborated on this and noted that the salary cap plays a role in these types of things. What else are the Cowboys going to do with the salary cap? We’ll have to wait and see.

Frank Reich’s offense: The Maryland years Over the next few days I’m going to give you more intricate details on what I expect the 2018 Frank Reich led Indianapolis Colts offense to look like. I have arrived at this conclusion based on his history as a player and a coach. I will say Youth Chester Rogers Jersey , that while this is an educated theory (I subjected myself to all 16 San Diego Chargers contests of the 2014 season for this series, you’re welcome) it is at best a theory. We don’t know, beyond a shadow of a doubt what his offense is going to look like, but I feel I can get pretty close considering his influences and what the man himself has said. Tomorrow morning we will cover Frank Reich’s time in the NFL and progress as the week goes on, culminating in what I expect The 2018 Indianapolis Colts offense to look like. I hope you enjoy reading about the Colts new head coach as much as I have enjoyed researching and writing this piece. If you missed yesterday's intro to the series you can catch up by clicking here. The Maryland YearsYou needed to see this picture twiceFrank Reich could make an argument as having been the most lucky or unlucky quarterback of all time, either title would be fitting. Unlucky to have sat most of his college career behind Boomer Esiason, unlucky to be drafted by the Buffalo Bills only to sit most of his pro career behind Jim Kelly, at the same time very lucky to have stretched his time as a backup into a 13 year professional career. Sitting for three years behind Esiason while at Maryland gave Reich an opportunity to absorb head coach Bobby Ross’ offensive system. In 1984 offenses looked a little different than they do today. In fact Bobby Ross ran a “balanced offense” out of a modified split backfield version of the wishbone. If you have questions about the wishbone offense, I suggest you go to Seymour, Indiana and ask anyone who played for the Owls between 1970 and 2005 (I have no idea if/when Seymour High School updated their offensive system, the rumor was they had always ran it and “always would” but “always would” can vanish when trying to keep pace with schools like Columbus East, right down the road). From my recollection Seymour ran it as well as any team I ever played against and a well executed wishbone was maddening to defend. As a defensive lineman every single run play looked the exact same. “Reading screws” was useless J'Marcus Webb Jersey Stitched , you couldn’t predict where the ball would be on any given play, you simply tried to maintain your gap assignment and tackle the guy who actually had the ball. Remember that line in Remember the Titans where coach Herman Boone says “I run 6 plays, split veer. It’s like Novocaine. Just give it time, always works.” That was more or less Seymour’s offense and that bit about giving it time was true. It never failed, by the time the 4th quarter came around they would almost always break off at least one long run. Frank Reich’s college coach Bobby Ross famously only had 11 different runs in his playbook. Just like Novocaine. But Ross didn’t just stop with well executed misdirection, before the 1980 NFL season Ross was an assistant with the Kansas City Chiefs. In the linked article from the Washington Post, Ross said of the development of his system:The last two lines in the first paragraph will be surprising to anyone who has listened to a football coach talk in the last couple decades. He’s not sure where he got the idea to be balanced, maybe he was a time traveler, came to 2018 listened to all 28 (wink, wink) NFL head coaches post season press conference. He would have heard 28 out of 28 talk about being balanced. For 1980, the idea of balance was ahead of its time. In 2018 when a team is “balanced” it means they have a run/pass ratio close to 50/50, really anywhere near 45% run could be called balanced today. So what did balance look like to Bobby Ross in the 1980’s? Over the last 10 games of the 1983 season the Maryland Terrapins had 2 Youth J'Marcus Webb Jersey ,930 yards rushing and amazingly 2,930 yards passing. The run/pass ratio wasn’t quite the same. The Terrapins had 306 passing attempts and 457 rushing attempts. Sure, it’s easy to sit back and criticize the coach, those numbers break out to 9.58 yards per pass attempt compared to 6.41 yards per rush attempt. Passing resulted in more yards per attempt, that’s a good thing, right? Of course, but this offense was considered progressive. It was dangerous. It was 8th in the nation with 32 points per and 6th in the nation with 446 yards per game in 1983. This offense was considered to be a “multiple-pro offense”. Ross drew acclaim for the flexibility of his offense, anyone could catch a pass, anyone could get the ball at anytime, it was balanced in more than one way. He took what he learned by studying both college and pro schemes and created a style that was uniquely his own and highly effective. This run play isn’t much different from what you would see from the 2017 Philadelphia Eagles split zone:Obviously there are major differences, namely the Terps aren’t using a zone blocking scheme, but the general idea is the same. The play is blocked to the left Joe Haeg Jersey Stitched , the tackle pulls (in the 2018 version of the split zone this is the TE) and he works up field. It’s tough to tell if the play side TE was supposed to block the defender or release him to get to the next level, if he was supposed to release him the pulling tackle would have been responsible for kicking him out to create an outside run. The pulling tackle looked as if he had to adjust his route as Vols defender #62 does a good job containing the edge. Meanwhile the fullback goes to the backside of the play to replace the pulling tackle. He doesn’t replace the block, instead those defenders don’t know for sure he doesn’t have the ball. He freezes them just long enough that the tailback has a chance to gain yards on this play. While this isn’t a 1 to 1 to the modern split zone run, if it was designed to go to the outside, it’s very similar considering the amount of change that’s taken place in the past four decades of football innovation. Further the principals of numerical advantage, misdirection and leverage remain the same in 2018 as they were in 1982.Pass designed to go to the RB:Most pass plays saw the Terps send their backs on pass routes. On occasion they would have dummy pulls and the fullback would block while Reich would roll out looking down field. This play, isn’t that. This is a designed clear out for that running back. This is what other coaches complained about with Bobby Ross’ offense. Reich takes a 7 step drop, his receivers go deep (sorry I can’t be more specific, the 80’s didn’t have great TV angles and the replay angles were somehow worse for determining anything beyond 5-10 yards) while the other back clears out the middle for the crossing route underneath. Reich hits his back foot and it’s an easy gain. Unfortunately it was called back due to a block in the back but that’s hardly the point here. This wasn’t in any way a West Coast offense, yet they wanted to find ways to get their running backs the ball in space. It’s interesting how much of what Bobby Ross implemented in the early 1980’s that Frank Reich has spoken of implementing in 2018. No, Reich isn’t bringing back a ton of traditional splitback formations and I will personally guarantee his idea of balance isn’t a 2鈦? run/pass ratio. Rather the ideas that Ross designed his system around; a multiple, flexible Youth Joe Haeg Jersey , unpredictable system that would look to get everyone the ball in multiple ways. The lessons Frank Reich learned as a young man seem to have left an impression, but they hardly tell the whole story of Frank Reich’s scheme history. Nor does Bobby Ross’ heavily wishbone influenced system cover all of the principles he will draw from to establish the offense we’re going to see for our 2018 Indianapolis Colts. Next we’ll take a look at the systems that made Reich’s 13 year professional career as successful as it was. Veteran DL Chris Smith will make his first career start in place of Ogbah, showing the team’s questionable depth at the position after choosing to cut the likes of DE Carl Nassib and DE Nate Orchard. The only other player on the injury report for Cleveland this week is LB Christian Kirksey, who is questionable with a shoulder/ankle injury. He was limited all week. Returning from a concussion this week is LB James Burgess. If Kirksey can’t go, then expect Burgess to start in his place.CB E.J. Gaines was a full participant in Friday’s practice and should be ready to return to game action. The Saints are only without one player this week, DT Tyeler Davison. He has been a starter for the past few seasons, as well as last week’s game, so that could open the door for Marcus Davenport to see some more action. After college teammates James Conner and Aaron Donald were both named to the Pro Bowl this week John Sullivan Color Rush Jersey , Conner shared on Instagram the text that Donald sent him in 2015, when Conner was diagnosed with cancer. That text did a lot to lift Conner’s spirits, and learning that meant a lot to Donald.Asked about it on Thursday, Donald said he was touched that Conner had saved his text and still remembered it three years later.“I started to tear up when I seen it. He鈥檚 family to me. So I’m just proud of him. I鈥檓 his biggest fan Todd Gurley Color Rush Jersey ,” Donald said, via Gary Klein of the .In his text to Conner three years ago, Donald wrote, “You鈥檙e going to look back at this one day after about seven Pro Bowls.” Conner now has six Pro Bowls to go https://www.ramsfanstore.com/Nickell-Robey-Coleman-Jersey , and he and Donald will square off against each other at the Pro Bowl this season. Unless one of them is in the Super Bowl — or, perhaps, they will meet each other in the Super Bowl. Rams cornerback Marcus Peters didn’t incur a penalty for removing his helmet after making a fourth-quarter interception on Monday night. He also didn’t incur a fine.According to the NFL, no fine was imposed for unsportsmanlike conduct on Peters Joseph Noteboom Color Rush Jersey , who removed his helmet and exited the field in plain view of back judge Tony Steratore, who said something to Peters but did not throw a flag.As one source familiar with the process of issuing fines explained it to PFT, players usually are fined for simply removed their helmets. The fines arise when other conduct occurs in connection with the removal of the helmet, such as throwing it.But the conduct clearly should have drawn a foul Jamon Brown Color Rush Jersey , which would have resulted in the Rams starting a drive with 1:18 to play from their own 20, instead of from their own 35. By throwing the ball on all three downs, the Rams forced the Chiefs to use only two of three time outs and took only 14 seconds off the clock before a 68-yard punt from Johnny Hekker (and a decision by receiver Tyreek Hill to return it out of his own end zone) put the Chiefs on their own 12 for what became their final drive.

Brown will sign massive 4-year Deatrich Wise Jr Color Rush Jersey , $66 million contract with Raiders."The NFL’s legal tampering window is not even open for an hour but already saw the New England Patriots lose one of their starting players: left tackle Trent Brown will sign a four-year, $66 million contract with the Oakland Raiders once free agency officially opens on Wednesday. Based on the reported per-year average, the deal is the largest for an offensive tackle in NFL history. Let’s find out what this means from New England’s perspective.Tom Brady loses his blindside protector in back-to-back yearsBetween him becoming the Patriots’ starter and last offseason, Tom Brady played behind only two left tackles: Matt Light held down the fort from 2001 through 2011, with Nate Solder protecting his blindside from 2012 to 2017. While injuries caused some in-season movements, of course, the left tackle spot was as stable a position as any on New England’s roster year-in and year-out. Now, however, the Patriots see the spot left vacant for the second straight year: Solder left last offseason, his successor is leaving this year.Isaiah Wynn is the front-runner to take over at left tackleWith Trent Brown no longer in New England, the road is now clear for the Patriots’ 2018 first-round selection to take over as the starting left tackle. Isaiah Wynn, of course, looked promising last offseason before injuring his Achilles during the second week of preseason. But even though he has yet to appear in an NFL game at left tackle and is coming off major injury, the 23-year-old will get every chance to earn the starting role. After all, he brings experience — a year in New England’s system plus a first-team All-SEC senior season at Georgia — as well as plenty of upside to the table.Dante Scarnecchia’s legend keeps growingIt is no secret that Dante Scarnecchia is the NFL’s best offensive line coach. However, seeing two of his students earn record-breaking contracts in back-to-back years still further adds to his already impressive r茅sum茅. The question, of course, will now be how Brown fares in a new environment and under Raiders line coach Tom Cable. The aforementioned Nate Solder, of course https://www.patriotsfanstore.com/Rex-Burkhead-Jersey , was inconsistent for the Giants in 2018 — it will be interesting to see if Brown fares better in Oakland. Meanwhile, Scarencchia will do what he has always done: groom Wynn and turn him into a starting-caliber NFL tackle. The Patriots will get another high compensatory pick next yearIn 2018, the Patriots lost starting left tackle Nate Solder to a record-breaking contract offer from the New York Giants. In 2019, they will lose Trent Brown to a record-breaking contract offer from the Raiders. The outcome, from New England’s perspective, is the same both times: the club needs a new left tackle and also get another high draft pick through the NFL’s compensatory formula. In all likelihood, that pick will again come at the end of the third round in the 2020 draft. The rich keep getting richer, even when losing free agents. Sometimes, you just know what’s coming. If you spend years and years watching sports, indulging yourself into following your favorite team, scouting the other teams, and watching game after game, week after week — as most of us have — you just develop a sixth sense about these things. I can’t promise that the Patriots are going to go into Arrowhead Stadium and win, though I do think they have a good chance. Heck, I can’t even promise that we’re going to get a good game on Sunday. But if I were a betting man — and I’m not, even though I like to act like it sometimes — I would bet this Patriots-Chiefs rematch, with a trip to Super Bowl LIII on the line, is going to be a classic. It just has all the makings for an epic AFC Championship Game, and I just have that feeling. My spider sense is tingling James Harrison Jersey , so to speak. If this game is anything like the one these two teams played at Gillette Stadium back in October — an absolute shootout that resulted in a 43-40 New England victory — we won’t be disappointed.Of course, there is no element of this game more fascinating than the quarterback matchup. You couldn’t script a better storyline than this. You have Tom Brady, the 41-year-old veteran who has accomplished everything you can accomplish as an NFL quarterback and then some, starting for New England. You have Patrick Mahomes, the 23-year-old newbie and soon-to-be MVP who appears to be in line to become the next generation’s Brady, starting for Kansas City. Is there any way to top that? There is so much on the line for both quarterbacks. Brady has been hearing for years — not just months, but YEARS — that he is washed up, over the hill, on his last breath. Yet, he has led the Patriots to the Super Bowl in three out of the last four seasons. Once again, he’s fighting to cling to his glory, and his status as the king of the AFC. Meanwhile, Mahomes is the young gun with his entire career ahead of him. He hasn’t accomplished much in the NFL yet, other than turning in one of the all-time great quarterback seasons in his first year as a starter, slinging for an incredible 50 touchdowns and over 5,000 passing yards. But beating Brady and the Patriots in the AFC title game and leading the Chiefs to their first Super Bowl appearance in almost 50 years would be historic. To put it simply, this game could mean two things: the groundhog could see his shadow, which would mean at least one more year of Brady and the Patriots ruling the football world. Or, this could be the official “passing of the torch” game in which Mahomes and the Chiefs succeed the Pats as the team to beat in the NFL. It will be one or the other.Another interesting aspect of this game: we have absolutely no idea which version of Bob Sutton’s Kansas City defense is going to show up on Sunday. Will it be the defense that spent four months of the regular season looking like hot garbage Cordarrelle Patterson Jersey , ranking 24th in the NFL? Or will it be the defense that absolute obliterated Andrew Luck, Marlon Mack and the Indianapolis Colts this past Saturday? Also, which version of New England’s offense will we see? It could be the one that struggled mightily on the road this season, particularly in Jacksonville, Detroit, Tennessee and Pittsburgh, in which Brady truly did look washed up while trying to play without any weapons. Or it could be the one that we saw on Sunday; the one that absolutely pounded the ball down the throats of the Los Angeles Chargers, particularly rookie Sony Michel who found the end zone three times and rushed for 129 yards.Imagine if we get that dominant Patriots run game against that dominant Chiefs defense? It will be quite the show. And then, last but not least, there is the weather factor. It’s going to be cold. Like, potentially subzero conditions. Possibly the coldest game in the history of Arrowhead Stadium. Brady has proved himself in several of these kinds of games. Mahomes proved himself during last week’s Kansas City Snow Bowl game against the Colts. This week, we will see if they are truly on the same level. But one thing is for sure: legends are made in January, when the weather is cold and there is something huge, such as a trip to the Super Bowl, on the line.Get ready, ladies and gentlemen. I don’t know for sure what will happen, but it just really feels like we are going to be watching an AFC Championship Game for the ages on Sunday. Nothing is better than January football.

The Los Angeles Chargers have heard plenty of jokes in the past on their kicking game. From the likes of Roberto Aguayo to Caleb Sturgis Uchenna Nwosu Color Rush Jersey , it seemed as if the one Achilles heel that was staring the Bolts in the face was their kicking game. Funny how things have a way of working out. As the Chargers looked to stay alive in the chase for the AFC West, the team called upon Micheal Badgley to play the role of hero against the Cincinnati Bengals. He did so without a complaint, or a missed opportunity either. Philip Rivers struggled the day after his birthday to get the Charger offense going. Going 19-of-29 for 220 yards and a touchdown, Rivers was forced to settle for threes instead of sixes. Keenan Allen once again was the team’s consistent option with five catches for 78 yards and a score. Austin Ekeler bounced back from a rough week in Pittsburgh to combine for 94 total yards of offense a touchdown. But the real story of the day was Badgely. Going 4-of-4 in field goals and a long of 59-yards, the 23-year-old rookie from Miami was the reason for the Chargers 10th victory. As the clock began to wind down in the second quarter, Chargers coach Anthony Lynn called a timeout. Putting faith in his young struggling kicker, Lynn sent Badgely out for the kick of his life. A long of 59 to give the Chargers a five-point lead. As the clock stayed firm at zero Craig Mager Color Rush Jersey , the New Jersey native took a deep breath and let it fly. A perfect snap led to a perfect hold which led to a tight kick nearing the right goal post. Sliding in, the Chargers would take the lead. It was the longest in Chargers history. But it was Badgley’s final kick of the evening that would give the Bolts the dagger to put the game away. With 49 seconds on the clock, Badgely nailed a 49-yard kick give the Chargers a 26-21 lead, thus eliminating a chance for a comeback. Badgley made history in the kicking game, an area many have considered to be horrendous for Los Angeles this season. Not only was his 59-yard beauty the longest in team history, but his 59 points is the most by any Chargers kicker through seven career games. The Charger now have the second-best record in the entire AFC. Thanks to losses by New England, Houston Jason Verrett Color Rush Jersey , and Pittsburgh, the Bolts are just one game behind the Chiefs for the division lead. If not for an injury to Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson, Los Angeles could be the team to beat heading into January. As Thursday night rapidly approaches, the Chargers now are a win away from taking control of the AFC West. On Thursday, the Chiefs will play host to the red-hot Bolts in Arrowhead Stadium. All it takes is a game to change a story. For Badgely, it came in the form of a kick. A history-making kick. Barry Sanders once beat us so bad on Thanksgiving I felt nothing but awe - Windy City GridironYes, today is Thanksgiving and the Bears are going to Detroit to play the Lions for the 12th time in our history. Our first game was in 1947. Our most recent Denzel Perryman Color Rush Jersey , 2014. But the height of the turkey day rivalry came in the 1990s, when we linked up for four games between 1991 and 1999, losing three of four, including 1997.Thanksgiving NFL expert picks: Detroit Lions vs. Chicago Bears - Pride Of DetroitOf course, the Lions have a couple of impactful injury situations of their own. Marvin Jones Jr. and Kerryon Johnson have already been declared out, meaning Matthew Stafford will have his work cut out for him facing an already tough Bears defense. That’s not the team you want to be shorthanded against, but Stafford will have to lean on the likes of Kenny Golladay Antonio Gates Color Rush Jersey , Bruce Ellington (maybe), and Zach Zenner.

Carsten Charles Sabathia Jr. Womens Nike Air Max , more commonly known as CC Sabathia, surpassed a huge milestone in the MLB last night. The 38-year-old player for the New York Yankees became the 17th pitcher in the league's history to record 3,000 strikeouts throughout his career. To commemorate this monumental moment, Jordan Brand has created a special Air Jordan 11 cleat exclusively for the southpaw. The shoes are dressed in Yankees colors with a navy blue ripstop mesh upper that's combined with premium suede along with gray Jumpman branding stitched on the ankle. Sabathia's jersey number is featured on the heel tab, while "CC52" is printed on the inside of the tongue. The Jordan 11's iconic black patent leather wraps around the entirety of the upper, which sits atop cleat-style tooling. Unfortunately for fans, the limited style is not expected to be released to the public.Sabathia also took to Instagram after last night's game against the Arizona Diamondbacks to thank his family, friends, teammates and the fans that have supported him throughout his journey. Check out all the Air Jordan cleats Sabathia has worn over the years by clicking here./p/Bw6MUgog5t2/Check out FN's cover shoot with Jordan Brand's Carmelo Anthony.Want more? The Top Seven Cleats Of Jordan Brand’s CC SabathiaTravis Scott x Air Jordan 1 Sneaker & Apparel Line Is Coming Soon — Here’s How You Can Get it AllP.J. Tucker Shows off Trophy Room x Air Jordan 5s on Instagram Ever wonder what's behind all those official-looking tags hanging on your boots and shoes? They tell the story of the anatomy and components that go into your footwear, from waterproofing to insulation and cushioning technologies.Among the leaders in today's construction arena are Vibram, Gore-Tex, Ortholite, and Primaloft, often found in the athletic Cheap Men Air Max , outdoor and work footwear markets. While these branded technologies can add to the cost of the shoe, manufacturers and consumers are often willing to pay the price due to the reliability and performance features they offer."As a brand ourselves, we clearly believe there is a concrete benefit in branded goods," said Soyla Breen, senior director, footwear merchandising for work & outdoor for Ariat International, about the use of branded componentry. "A brand cares about its reputation, and there is therefore a sense of accountability that drives excellence."While there are lots of quality generic components used in footwear today, branded component makers will often invest more in research and development, thus driving up the cost of their products. However, spending a bit more up front can mean extending the life and performance of the shoes you buy.At Danish brand Ecco, Felix Zahn, product director for Ecco Americas, which uses components such as Primaloft explained Cheap Nike Air , "Our core competency is shoemaking, operating and own our tanneries and factories. However, we're very aware that there are companies out there that are experts in waterproof materials, rubber materials, or warm lining components."Therefore, the company has opted to add branded components in order to provide the consumer with an enhanced wearing experience. "Our partnership with Gore-Tex already goes back many decades, while we have just started to collaborate with other industry leaders such as Primaloft and Michelin last year," said Zahn.Since branded components can add to a product's cachet, retailers make sure to communicate their features and benefits to consumers. At Appalachian Running Company, Carlisle, Pa., a two-store chain, co-owner Todd Lewis said relating such information is an important part of the sales process, and also figures into the store's buying decision."Gore-Tex is the best example Cheap Nike Free ," said Lewis. "There's a perceived value. Our store is [saying] if [a shoe] has Gore-Tex, it's probably a better process than XYZ waterproofing membrane." Lewis added many consumers are already familiar with branded components, which are likely to become even more important going forward.Ariat has also found consumers will recognize a branded component and its perceived value, and are willing to pay more for the the "intel inside." According to Soyla Breen, senior director, footwear merchandising for work & outdoor, the company uses both Thinsulate and Primaloft insulating materials."For the work category, we use Thinsulate, not because we believe it is inherently better than Primaloft, but because we believe the average work consumer recognizes and understands Thinsulate is the best of all insulations on the market." She added, these consumers may have already bought a boot with Thinsulate, so they know what to expect. It provides a comfort level with the product, which I'm not sure overtly tips the scale on the purchasing decision, but certainly contributes to it."Using branded components https://www.thetopsneaker.com/nike-react-men , said Breen, also offers a safety net when it comes to reliability. "In lab testing, many times the branded version performs better, but you can also find non-branded materials performing well. However, long-term partnership and reliability matters. A branded supplier is a partner who stand behind their product."At the end of the day, all these factors contribute to a consumer's willingness to pay more for a product with recognizable components, said Breen. "Consumer perception of the component performing better than a generic [version} is very important. '[However], the consumer is only willing to pay more if they believe it is superior."Here, is a round-up of the some of the key branded component makers and the features and benefits they provide.PrimaLoftAn insulating material, Primaloft can be applied to a range of footwear categories and includes PrimaLoft Gold, designed for use in shoe uppers. It's designed to add warmth without bulk and can stand up to repeated compression over time. It's also breathable and can be used in both dry and wet conditions. In addition, it's made from 90 percent post-consumer recycled material such as plastic bottles.VibramKnown for its rubber compound outsoles, it's most commonly used Sport & Outdoor, Lifestyle www.thetopsneaker.com , and Work & Safety footwear categories, and recognized by its yellow octagon logo. Soles for casual footwear are designed with enhanced gripping properties for wear on solid surfaces such as as asphalt and concrete, and can withstand wet as well as cold and icy conditions. For the Sport & Outdoor category, soles offer traction on unstable terrain, as well as grip on dry and wet conditions.OrthoLiteOrthoLite is a manufacturer and supplier of open-cell foam insole technologies used in a wide range of footwear brands. OrthoLite foam compresses less than 5 percent over the lifetime of the product, so the cushioning and fit remain unchanged. Their open-cell structure creates a moisture management system that helps move moisture away to create a drier environment. The technology is 95 to 100 percent breathable, allowing air to circulate.Gore-TexThe producer of waterproof and breathable performance technologies, this spring the brand is introducing 3D Fit, a waterproof and breathable system that allows a shoe to more effectively contour to the shape of the foot. It will allow consumers to wear knitted, elastic, mesh footwear in a range of conditions and outdoor activities regardless of the weather, and is debuting in Adidas' Terrex Speed GTX style.Want more?10 Comfortable Women's Sandals That Offer Support and Stability9 Women's Athleisure Shoes You Can Wear to Work8 of the Best Outdoor Shoes for Fall '19
